Lighter and Brighter

Having been sick this week, I have not been able to keep up with the major cleaning. Today with some hefty drugs in me, prescribed my good ole Doc, I felt ready to dig in and get the house scrubbed and clean for the weekend. I have vacuumed, dusted, did laundry and picked up the wayward stacks of papers that were hanging about. Feels so good. I am now enjoying a cup of coffee and some home made junk in the trunk cookies I made Wednesday. Will have to share the recipe.
I decided to lighten up my dining room with my white tablecloth and set a spring center piece.

I used a tray I picked up at a local garden center. I love the heart cut outs and the rustic feel. Just layered in some lighter pieces to reflect the season and the light.

The snapdragons are from my yard and I love to plant lots of them for cut flowers.

Silver pieces collected over the years lay in a Haviland dish.

Crystal and an old lamp help to reflect the light in my otherwise dark dining room.

It has become a dark day with rain expected. A lit candle makes a sparkly scene.
Also, Ricki Jill of Art at Home is having an awesome giveaway for her 100th post. It is some great Anthropologie lovelies. Check out her blog. I am a daily follower of her posts.

Glad you're feeling better but be careful not to overdo it. Your table centerpiece is both lovely and functional.

Snapdragons were always my favorite flower as a child. My grandparents grew oodles of them and I used to love to make them "snap"! Are they simple to grow?

Love the tray! Covina huh? I am in Corona. You are not too far from me. I grew up in Yorba Linda, so that is even closer. Love your snaps, and I too love to garden. Feel better. Don't over do it on the cleaning! Get well first!!!
