Best Ever Cole Slaw Recipe

This recipe was my mother's. We call it "Best Ever" Cole slaw recipe because my brother in law used to say it was the best ever. Make it hours before you want to serve it so the flavors co-mingle.

Best Ever Cole Slaw Recipe

  • One head green cabbage finely chopped (If the head of cabbage is huge you may want to add a little more of the dressing)
  • 2 carrots grated (I use a box grater)
  • 1 tsp. grated onion
  • 1/2 c. Mayo
  • 1/3 c. Sour Cream (I use low fat)
  • 1 TB. apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste

Mix all together thoroughly and refrigerate until ready to serve at least a couple of hours, but longer is better. We like it creamy but you could cut a little of the mayo and sour cream to your liking.

  7. I do love cole slaw and this sounds like a great recipe. My dressing uses sour cream too. I think it gives it a little tang. Mimi

  8. This sounds good. I've never thought of adding sour cream. Ours is simply mayo, lemon juice and sugar with a few sprinkles of lemon pepper. Love cole slaw! I'll have to try the sour cream. And you know, the low fat kind tastes just as good!

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope you'll come back again.
