Simple Changes

You know how it is, you move a couple rooms around and then furniture doesn't fit or needs to be changed up to make room for new arrangements. We have been puttering around when we have free time to move this and hang that. Samplers that were scattered around the house now make a better statement grouped together.

I am glad the Easter things are down and now we can just have a clean slate. Simple decor to take us through the summer months. I love to decorate for holidays but enjoy the rest of the summer months when more time is spent outdoors and inside needs to be as low maintenance as possible.

Clean, tidy and polished. One good thing about moving things around is you get to spruce up all the nooks and crannies.

One area I am looking forward to decorating is my kitchen shelf. I have been pulling all the old tins and kitsch  items that were left with this house to make a fun display for summer. Stay tuned.

I agree. Things need to be simplified in the summer so we can have fun and play!

Yes, your samplers look great all together. And I love that chicken on the books lamp. Your right about simplifying for summer. Maybe I'll try and do that and put some stuff away for awhile.

I love that flour sifter! Cute stuff. And I agree, you have to pare down for summer because you don't want to be dusting, when you can be drinking lemonade on the porch.

I came over from Alphabe Thursday and enjoyed my visit. Are those vintage samplers or did you make them? Very nice! I took the kitchen tour while I was here and I love your 1950's kitchen. Don't change a thing. I bet your house is always immaculate and neat. I don't dare move things around or I'd need a shovel for the dust.

I've been cleaning out drawers and piles of papers. It feels so good getting organized. Gas is crazy expensive in CA. Utah is a little cheaper. Inflation is a big worry for those of us on fixed incomes. Mimi

I love your samplers, and they do look very nice grouped together. I agree about the simpler decorating during the summer. I'd rather spend the time decorating porches and the garden!

Gosh, I think you absolutely described the way I've been feeling about clutter lately.

It would be fun to clutter trade...then you'd end up with all new stuff knowing you could trade back for your own stuff later.

Thanks for a fun stop for Alphabe-Thursday's letter 'B'
