Question for Bloggers #4

Blogging is time consuming. Right? I think it is. It is coming up with ideas and taking pictures, uploading them and  finishing up the post. Then you have blogs you visit and that takes more time. So how do you find time to blog if you are an active blogger?

See my picture above? I am uploading pictures as I am folding laundry. For some reason I can only upload one pic at a time anymore. I used to choose and upload multiple so I don't know if it has anything to do with my new camera. Anyway, I multi-task. I have kids, chores, you know the busy stuff of life and don't find much time to sit and just blog so I try to squeeze it in. If I am laying down with the little one, I often have the computer on the bed somewhere. In the kitchen I might be cooking and uploading pictures then. Sometimes I think I could have a job for the time spent but it would be out of the house and not as enjoyable. So how do you make time to blog? I am dying to know.

Pretty much the same way - multi-task - set aside some time in the morning and evening - it is an ongoing task each day - well, like folding laundry. Will be interested in other's comments,

I'm pretty random with my blogging. I don't have little ones but it's still a time challenge. I don't pressure myself to blog everyday...although...I tend to read blogs early in the morning as I am an early riser and I love to read when all is quiet. Right now, supper is in the oven so I'm reading a little now. I think it's important to have a hobby for yourself...especially with little ones.

I find that I either make my daily post early in the morning, or rather late at night. I typically do it before my grandson wakes up, or well after he has gone home, and I am sitting in my bed with the laptop and an idea for a post. But, like you, it is always a matter of juggling what is most important to do first. And sometimes, like right now, after a very busy and hectic weekend full of birthdays and parties, I am way behind in my normal routines. This makes me very grouchy!!!!

The secret for me... is that I have a wonderful 'sunroom'(which is really just a utility porch built onto the back of our cottage). It has windows on 3 sides, it is where the laundry is located, my crafting supplies, etc.... and the kitchen is just steps away.
I can multi-task with everything being so close at hand.
It also helps that I am a VERY early riser (4:00am) and get a jump on my day.

I just make time, like you. But it's fun, right?

While I've been painting my kitchen cabinets, my poor old blog has had to go on the back burner. I've written so many posts, but not had a chance to upload pictures. I can't wait to get back writing though, I have so many posts buzzing around my head... now I must get back to painting! Lx

I have grown children so I will be honest,, I have spare time, we no longer have the house and yard to tend, we were young to make this move but my husband became very ill,, moved to town,, I have lots of time but spend more time painting or cooking than blogging, my grand kids are my joy,, so I guess my answer is the same as everyone else but, just different for me than trying to do all the jobs young mums have or working mums,, could I come help you fold clothes,, (I feel guilty) lol,its very time consuming I agree but we love it don't we,,,

I do things all at the same time kinda. multi-tasking is fun don't you think. I'm an artist and stay at home and studio mom so I do what I can with my free time.

I'm retired but still try to "schedule" blogging time for either early mornings or late evenings. I don't try to blog daily; sometimes do good to do it weekly, nor do I stress if I don't get around to my favorite bloggers every week. Blogging is one of those things I enjoy, but could stop tomorrow and be ok with it... after withdrawal, of course. LOL!

I was going to ask you the same question. I usually post something every other day and I see that you post several times a day. Amazing!!

When you find the answer please let me know as I have been wondering the same thing! I have so many ideas and photos but doing the post is very time consuming. I have made so many friends that I cannot imagine giving it up--I am just doing a few posts each month. Linda

I am medically retired now...so I have time. But I do usually blog in the morning and late afternoon. I only post a couple of times a week normally. And I am a strong believer in my Blogroll and my comments going through my email. Helps me keep fairly up to date on who writes me! Keep it fun though!!

I honestly don't know how people blog every single day. I find that impossible. I fit it in when I can and rarely blog on weekends. It feels good to take a break every now and then. Sometimes I abandon everything else and go on a blogging craze. I'll do 3 or 4 posts and save them as drafts to post later. This allows me to blog at leisure the rest of the time.

I thought there was something wrong with my computer, because I can only upload one picture at a time without them all being out of order!
I feel the same way about blogging. I think I spend way too much time at it, when I can be doing much more important things. I tend to only visit blogs on the days that I do a post on mine. And then I feel like I'm missing alot of what's going on in blogland! It sounds to me like you're able to balance it all really well!

I can't blog every day, every post takes about an hour, sometimes more if blogger is giving me a hard time. I am a housewife, and I help my husband with his business by making phone calls to his customers and doing his bookwork. If I had a child at home or had to work even part-time, I wouldn't blog. I just would not have time.
Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy schedule and commenting on my blog today, I really appreciate it!
Hugs, Cindy

Photos are loading slowly for me lately too, so I also multi-task. My other jobs are phone answering and working on my laptop, though, so it's blog a little, work a little, download, link it up, back to work again - no wonder my laundry never gets done - but by blogging you are creating something. You are expressing yourself. You are thinking, and sharing and giving the world a peek into your life. Definitely worth the time!

Hi - I am asking for fellow bloggers to visit my site in hopes that we can find a match for a young girl that desperately needs a bone marrow transplant. Would be great if you could visit today too. Thank you. Kelly

It's fun, so I try to make time. My kids are college age, so they don't need me as much as they used to. I do work full time, but I can always read and comment on a few blogs while I'm eating lunch. I usually only do two posts a week, because that is all I have time for. And they are often very short. It's enough. When life gets too busy, I don't worry about it. For me, family always comes first. So blogging gets set aside when I need to take care of other things.

I definitely multitask and a lot of stuff is never finished. I take a lot of pictures during each day and do a lot of editing. Do some chores and then back to pictures and editing and checking out blogs and then doing more things that need to be done. My house is no where near how neat and clean that it used to be before blogging.

I try to do at least 5 posts a week, so yes, multitasking is a must! I also try to go ahead and write posts in advance. That's not always possible though! When it starts to feel stressful, I remind myself not to take the fun out of it!

I think I email you about this already, but I was thinking one thing that would help me is if I did not use as many photos in my posts. ANd I immediately thought of your blog because you usually do not post many photos, yet yours is one of my favorite blogs. I am worried about the summer because I have never blogged over the summer. I am afraid I will not have the time to blog with the kids out of school and activities!

I do the same as you - start a picture loading and then go put in a load of wash. To many times I come back and see that I've lost my connection so I have to start again. And I get up 1/2 hour earlier than my hubby so I can peruse the blogs I like to look at. It works for me.

I blog early in the morning before the house is awake and late at night after the house is asleep!

Following you from the GARDEN HOP!

Then I take small free minutes to catch up on some reading in between tasks.

This is how I blog:

Well, I work full time and my blog is poetry so I only post when a new idea hits me. This weekend, I have 3 days off so I did some redecorating to my blog design. My poems are usually short so once I think of them, it only takes a few seconds to post, but I am trying to add more photos too, which will take a bit more time. You definitely have a more time consuming type of blog than what I have. I love your blog by the way !!
