Grabbed my last bits of back to school items and made up a simple centerpiece on our dining room table.
We eat dinner here each night so I like to make it seasonal and fun but it can't take up too much space as there are six of us.
An apple scented candle sets off the right mood for those approaching September days.
A nod to all the teachers that have patiently taught my girls over the years.
look at you...i LOVE this..it is adorable...and THE BEST part is...your kids will always remember it...
ReplyDeleteyou are making cherished family memories here, my friend

It's definitely that time of year, isn't it? I bought last-minute school supplies today at Walmart, can't beat their prices. The start of school has always been a favorite time of year for me. We are going to begin our ninth year of homeschool in a few weeks - wish me luck on Algebra! Love your dining table setting for back to school, just adorable.

I'm sure that apple-scented candle smells heavenly!
ReplyDeleteENAMORED OF RED
Enamored of red
I lie in my bed,
Dreaming of cherry-filled crèmes;
For red is the shade,
The prettiest made,
That gives me the sweetest of dreams.

So sweet Elaine! My kids can't believe all the kids that are back to school already. They don't go back until after Labor Day. I haven't even started my BTS shopping yet!!!

Hi Elaine,
ReplyDeleteLove the centerpiece you have created for Back To School. Not sure I am quite ready for summer to be over but, when I am am, your centerpiece might just inspire me to try one of my own!

Very cute centerpiece! I just looked at your pictures of your camping trip. You are lucky to live near the mountains and the ocean. Your daughters are lovely. You said two of them are in college. What are they studying? My boys are doing philosophy, biology, and chemistry. Each very different!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Bright and sunny post:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Hope to see you on my blog:)

ReplyDeleteElaine, what a sweet centerpiece. My mind has been turning to "back to school" this week as well. I only have one left in school this year, and he returns right after Labor Day. This summer has passed by so very fast. Thanks for the inspiration. I've gotta get at my "back to school" display soon!!
