Fall Gardening

Between caring for my little sickly peanut, I potted up some of the fall annuals I bought the other day. I am so happy to have flowers around my favorite spot on the patio. I can see these pots from my den through the windows so the plants and flowers bring me a lot of joy right here. You can see evidence of my clumsy dog in that poor mum. She ran into it playing with the cat. Or harassing the cat more like it.

I cannot be too picky about things around here as the kids and the animals are hard on a garden. My lush coleus is only half of it's former self as Quinn picked a bunch of branches for her playhouse.

These are my favorite mums right here. Fall color at its best.

Last night Quinn and I sat on my lounge chair right there until well after dark. We snuggled under a blanket as it was a little cool out there for her. We watched birds fly over us and the moon was out so we talked about that and how much fun we are going to have next weekend camping at the beach. This is an annual trip for us and SoCal has perfect beach weather in September. We go this weekend ever year. Two days lying on the beach and lots of good camping food. We will be close to Solvang, a little Danish themed town,  so we take a drive inland for some fresh baked pastries and then back to the beach. Thankfully the trailer is all clean and tidy. We just need to load up our food and clothes and we will be all ready.

I was just out the other day looking for orange and yellow flowers for Fall. I'm loving the cooler temps, but I'm not ready to lose all of my flowers to frost just yet! Your trip sounds like it will be wonderful. I miss camping!

Those mums are just gorgeous! It's still a little too warm here to plant them, but it will only be a few weeks. Your trip to the beach sounds wonderful. We live about an hour away from Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. I love the beach in Sept. also.
