Looking Back and Forward

Fall garden and fall decorating.

Looking forward to my mums opening up. My clay pumpkin has made it out to the front porch.

Gone will be all the fresh berries of summer.

But oh how I love that I can bake cookies again and serve them with a pot of hot tea.

It will soon be time to take down the summer decor. I believe the fall boxes will come down this weekend.

Oh how I love cool evenings and rainy days to snuggle with a favorite blanket.

And if you grow anything in your garden next year, plan on some cucumbers. A fresh picked cucumber tastes so wonderful. You will never want a store bought one again. I plant a couple of vines a year and plug in some new seeds around mid summer and I pick around two to three a week.

How random is that? Ending with cucumbers.

  1. Nothing wrong with a random post. I love that red quilt, just beautiful. We have a nice cloudy day here and I'm enjoying the cooler weather while i can. Got a big pot of homemade marinara on the stove, almost feels like autumn, even here in phoenix.

  3. Hi Elaine. Yes the fresh cukes are to die for. So much flavor. I have pulled the rest of my garden out now. The severe heat we had just fried the last of it. Next year I will be planting more cukes too! I put in extra this summer, the packet said cukes, but they turned out to be cantaloupe, which were wonderful too! I am in the process of doing my fall decor too. I hope to finish up this weekend. Wish the pumpkins were in the markets though. LOVE those all over the place!!!

  4. Hi Elaine,
I dearly love all of your red decor touches! And you are so right about home grown cukes. I am on vacation at my daughters and she has cukes in her garden, what a treat!
    Have a great Fall-ish day!

  6. I've already started baking apple pies and apple crisps! Waiting on changing the decor a little longer, but I am ready for this heat to be gone! Love your Fall decor! I admit, I did buy a few pumpkins and a big candle holder already.
