Little White Cupboard or Hiding and Outlet

Farmhouse decor, little white farmhouse cupboard with chicken wire for fall.

Farmhouse decor, farmhouse cupboard

We moved loads of things around this last weekend and I have been wanting something tall in this spot to hide a very hideous outlet that is about half way up the wall. The most inconvenient level to camouflage it.
Decided to move a little shelf from the kitchen out here.

Topped with my black can and lights that now conveniently have the plug right behind them. The plug is hidden from view now. They need women to decide where to place plugs when houses are built don't you agree?

  1. Yes I absolutely agree. Either they are too high, too many on the wrong wall and basically none where you need them. The little cabinet looks great there and the lights brighten the area.

  3. Really love this cupboard.. also not a fan of inconveniently placed outlets, especially when they're an eyesore in a room.

  4. Hi Elaine,

What a perfect little cupboard...love the chicken wire!
The pumpkins look great on the shelves. It will be fun to change it up for the seasons.
    Thanks for visiting today!

  7. In my next house, I'm going to be the one deciding where all of the outlets go! LOVE that little white cabinet, and how those pumpkins look inside!

  10. You are right, that is a crazy height for an outlet. That is a very sweet little cabinet that you put in front of it and the pitcher with little lights is wonderful!

  16. Way to go...solving a problem and creating something pretty to look at too!
When we moved to the Cottage, I insisted on hiring an electrician to put all the outlets and switched just where I wanted them. It's been awesome.
Hope your weekend is a good one :)

  17. I don't think I have any unsightly outlets that need hiding. Hmm. Now I'll be looking for them. Whether you "needed" it or not, I just love the little cabinet there. With the pumpkins, it's just plain perfect.

  18. What a great idea to hid such a necessary yet not so pretty house feature.

  19. What an odd spot for an outlet! You are smart to hide it. I wonder why it was put at that height? Do you know? I think your vignette is cute in that spot even if you did not need to hide an outlet. :D

  20. Very CUTE! I thing you accomplished what you set out to do. I would never guess that there is an awkward outlet there. :)

  21. I hear you about the plugs! Here in Australia plugs are few and far between in homes for some strange, unexplained reason and so we have to resort to a lot of extension cords and messy wires to light/power anything! You did a good job disguising yours though. Love the little cupboard. We have something similar over here:)
