Back to Reality

We are back from a long weekend at Elle Cottage on the Central Coast. You can see the little cottage here. It belongs to my husband's family. We had sun, rain, wind but always beautiful scenery. After the rain on Saturday we headed to the beach to go tide pooling. We find the best stuff in the tide pools after the storms.

Here hubs is showing Q and the other kids a star fish. Of course our little one wanted to bring it home like the one in our bathroom. We had to tell her this one was alive and needed to stay in the ocean.

We had four adults and five kids in the little cottage so it was busy with lots of very large meals and snacking whenever we found an excuse. We have to walk a lot to burn calories up here so we took a very long hike in the hills. It was beautiful and we got back to the cars just before the rain.

The deer visit the cottage's yard twice daily in the early morning and at sunset. They raid the bird feeder and try to eat the apples from the trees. We never tire of watching them. Back to life and school and laundry and keeping the home fires burning. I have stocked the kitchen again, unpacked and put all the laundry away. Whew!

Welcome back. Wonderful you are teching the kids to put the starfish back. We were at a beach once and people were digging sand dollars up and I was getting really upset.

You are one busy lady! And yet you find time to do all that you do for your family. Little cottage sort of looks like the little blue house.

What fun! I love being by the ocean. We only get there once a year if we are lucky! I cannot think of a better way to spend the weekend than by the water.
