Great Weekend

Had one of those ordinary but wonderful weekends. On Saturday morning hubby and I snuck out for breakfast and I had a coupon for our favorite place so that was a bonus. I had pumpkin pancakes. So very yummy!!! No calories I am sure.
After breakfast we went into HomeGoods where hubby patiently pushed the cart around while I went up and down the isles. I found a wonderful Le Creuset baking dish for my MIL. She is hard to buy for but I know she will love it. I also bought myself a new can opener. You could barely turn my old one. Isn't the color great?

We finally had a chance to celebrate hubby's birthday with his family on Saturday night. My MIL cooked a wonderful Mexican dinner so any night I don't have to cook is a good one. Q decorated daddy's card and by the time she was done it was unrecognizable as a card. I wish I would have shot a picture of that.

My 13 year old daughter has all of her gifts for her friends wrapped up.  I just loved how neatly she did them.
She is so my daughter and as soon as she got home she started wrapping. She loves Christmas and all the rituals and decorating. She gets me and I get her.

In a bit we are off on a Sunday night to attend our church's Walk Through Bethlehem. It is a huge undertaking and wonderful event to see and experience the Christmas story in life size. Our 13 yr. old is working it this weekend so we will see her there and take Q to see all the animals. They even have a live camel. I will share pictures later this week. Have a wonderful week everyone. All my girls are out of school after this Tuesday so I am one excited mom. I can stay home and bake and finish up my wrapping. I am almost done but wrap my girl's stocking stuffers too and that takes some time to do that. I mentioned that I may stop doing that and my girl's acted like I was going to run over our dog on purpose so I will continue the tradition. My mom did it for us so I will carry on the torch. Makes the stockings extra fun so I can see why they like it.

The can opener looks great in your kitchen!!! :D You have had a much better weekend than I have had, my friend. We have been working on exam study guides! I know you will be so happy to have your girls home for Christmas and out of school Tuesday. YAY!!! Shanley won't be home until Friday of next week, and Shelley doesn't get out until Tuesday, Dec. 20th.

I cannot believe your church's nativity even has a camel! How awesome is that!!! :D

I am finishing my Christmas shopping tomorrow (I hope).

I'm sure you love having your girls home for awhile. My youngest is having finals this week and then home. Love to bake with kids around to help and lick the spoon!

Our church is doing a Christmas program put on by the youth group. But they are keeping it a secret till Christmas service. I think it's a Miracle that they got that many kids to keep a secret. Tell your husband Happy Birthday. I like the table cloth on the table.

Nothing like a good week-end. So jealous of your new can opener. I have had a pampered chef for many years, and it is not performing very well anymore. Don't know where to find another one, and just am not happy with the ones that I do find after using this one for all of these years!

Glad you had such a great weekend! My children are the same way about the stockings. They are grown and have families of their own!! I always get little gifts for the grandbabies. I started a tradition years ago of getting each person in my family a special ornament that may reflect their personalities, hobbies, work, etc. I thought about stopping it one time and my youngest thought the same as yours! LOL Something about traditions makes the holidays so special, huh?
Enjoy your time with your daughter being out of school.
