Ode to the Girls

I love all things chicken and right now I am 'obsessed" as my hubby says. He's right. I dug this old ceramic chicken out of the pot it had been stuck in for years. Washed her up and now she has a place of honor on the patio.

I told hubby it was my homage to the girls. The feathered girls not our daughters.

  4. You are not alone in your chicken obsession :)

She's a cute little chicken, and what a nice touch ... nestled in the flower pot :)

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  6. Me too!
Years ago...right after I married, I began collecting chicken knick-knacks as I call them.
then I went through a phase where I decided I didn't want them anymore. But, I kept a few--packed up for safe keeping.
so now, I'm back to pulling them out and relishing in their novelty.
Because-- my chickens are a novelty to me!

    I love all things chicken!

    enjoy- Pat

  7. Elaine, you are one busy lady! You crank out a post nearly every day and I am doing good to do 1 a week. Your ornamental hen looks good in her new spot and your real live chicks seem to be thriving as well. Sympathy for your dog poop venture, a friend of mine's husband was weed eating and hit a pile of that in some poison ivy, he was one nasty, itching guy before that was all said and done. Some days just don't turn out to be good ones, lol

  12. Love your ceramic chicken! She looks perfect in that planter and I love the variegated leaves on your geranium. We get the garden variety plants here....rarely is there something different unless I drive an hour or so. She looks right at home there.

  18. My mother was a chicken person and collected for years. When she died I gave most away but kept the ones that had been my favorites.
