Spring Blooms

Are you like me? This time of year you just look out the window and smile. So much green and oh the vivid colors just make you smile.

Everything brand new. The first blooms of the year taking all the nutrients stored up exploding in the first flowers and leaves of the season.

I look right onto this little planter from my kitchen sink window. My tree is now full of leaves of the brightest green.

This fall buy some dutch iris bulbs and you will be rewarded with more and more blooms every year. I divide every summer now and they thank you with an even better clump of flowers.

I admit this time of year I seem to do the minimum inside. I just want to spend all my days outside in the garden. I have family coming for Easter so I guess I need to stay in and get cleaning but it is so hard to do.
We usually have an Easter brunch on the patio if the weather is nice.

Those flowers are gorgeous and just a riot of bright and varying colors. I love the edging you have as I am looking for something that I can rest my lawnmower wheel on and not have to do as much trimming after mowing. Are those bricks? Also, when can you divide the Iris? After they're done blooming or in the Fall?
I know what you mean....I love being outside and now I have to stay in and prep for company too. Don't people understand that this is what gardeners wait all Winter for??? LOL! TTYL!

I just love your pretty pictures. My yard is just barely starting to bud and a few leaves beginning only on some of the trees! You are making me jealous!

Your flowers are gorgeous!

What are the flowers in the first photo? Are they annuals or perrenials? How do you deal with weeds?

I am full of questions this morning, aren't I? :)

Me too, the minimum inside. Your irises are stunning. I transplanted some this weekend along with a squillion day lilies. I love outside work. I mean when you vacuum the floor it never blooms for you.

I'm the same way. I spend most of my time outside - for us this time of year is about cleaning up the garden beds and the yard. And of course, this year it's about re-seeding the front of the house where I lost my lawn to the installation of the septic system. But even that stuff is great! This week I'll re-seed and put down the mulch and hopefully, all will be okay for me to leave for Hartford on Sunday.

Oh how pretty! We in Ohio have been enjoying some blooms, but nothing like you have got going on in your yard. How colorful. I remember several years ago I had about 14 pots of beautiful color on our decks and we had a man here to repair our air conditioner. he commented on all the pretty pots and my husband said, "Yeah, but you can't eat them." The repairman replied, "Some things are meant for the stomach, other things are just meant for the soul." I will never forget that, because he was right. I could sit on the deck for hours and just gaze at the flowers and how happy they make me feel, so I know what you mean when you say just looking out your window makes you smile.

So enjoy your blog. Your garden is so vibrant and lovely and I'm getting a kick out of following your chicks--I assume that in addition to no eggs, it is against city ordinance to have a rooster--to say nothing about two!

So funny for me in Illinois to see Iris blooming amongst the nastruiums!

I forget to divide my rhizomes and bulbs... so they get concentrated in one main area.
I need to remember to do this spread them around!

Your iris' are beautiful. My purples didn't bloom this year. The white one on my blog has already faded by the time I posted the picture.

maybe next year!

Oh, your yard is just getting prettier by the day. I went and uncovered some of the patio furniture this morning. Everything is so filthy. Lots of work to do.

I know you live in a warmer climate, so your garden is farther ahead than mine. You have some wonderful color and sunny days, so no wonder you want to be outside. Hope you have good weather on Easter to enjoy your brunch. Thank you for linking up to my party Elaine.

Your flowers are beautiful! I especially love Iris. My grandma always had a gorgeous garden of Iris. My mom still grows some. They make such great cut flowers for the house too. Love your blooms!

You are a true gardener. The inside suffers here too once spring arrives because I want to be outside as much as possible.
Although our winter was mild, being cooped up for 4 or 5 months is tough. The emergence of green shoots and colourful flowers definitely brings a smile to this face also.
Happy Easter

Amazing and beautiful color arrangements! I'm also like you - I have a friend coming to visit in a couple weeks, and I'm being forced to sort out what to do inside vs. outside because everything needs to be done all at once! Gah!

That first photo, you made all those colors work together!!!! Just great.
