Sunny Simple Sunday #14

Help I am melting!!! No kidding. Supposed to be 106 here today. I feel I moved into an oven and I will never get out. I won't tell you what my last electric bill was. I think a swim at grandma's house may be in order today. Have a wonderful weekend and if it is cool where you live, I am jealous.

Some of the highlights from last week. Do we ever tire of seeing the lovelies at Cozy Little House?
Her Lucy and Ethel Moments post is funny but oh so pretty. You can laugh and see great shots of her sweet little house. What more could you want?

Maple Lane  shared this sweet post of puppy and kitty love. So cute! We almost love our pets as this was one of the most viewed posts. Sadly our cat would put a claw into our dog if it tried to come near his bed.

Farm Road Ramblings shared this quilt top she just finished. I just had to share it. Is this not gorgeous. I never stop being envious of you talented quilters and sewers.

And the most viewed post from last week was A Spoonful Of's post on how she painted her kitchen counter tops. AMAZING. I did not know you could even do that. What a wonderful change. So much cheaper than replacing them that is for sure.

I feel for ya Elaine, as we live in the Las Vegas desert! We will be enjoying 90's this week (high 90's, but we'll take it). Hang in there, the heat will break soon. Thanks so much for the mention on your blog! I hope to link up again today or tomorrow.

Thank you for hosting, Elaine. Thanks too for the mention from last week. It was great fun to join such a friendly group of participants. Hope you get a chance to jump in the pool today! Mildred

I hope you get a break from the weather soon! We are a little sad because it got so cool this week that our pool is too cold to enjoy now :( Thank you for hosting!

Oh I do know about the heat. We are finally into the high 90's and that seems like a cool spell. Hope it cools for you soon. Thanks for hosting. Hugs, Marty

Oh, I do feel for you Elaine. I am not a hot weather kind of gal. We've had such a hot summer all over the country this year.

I love that gorgeous quilt -- wish I was that talented! Thank you for hosting and have a wonderful weekend.

Great features from last week. i had no idea you could paint countertops. either! I hate our granite. Hate it. I want to rip it out and put ceramic tile in with some butcher block. If I have a good spring at the art show, I will do it myself! ;P

106 degrees....are you flipping kidding me? Dontcha know that it is September even in California, lass????

I am reading your blog this morning, and I really like your little egg holder. So cute! Did you get it @ Country General?

I have heard of painting counter tops, although I have not yet tried it. Certainly is a cost effective alternative. Every time I price solid surface counter tops for clients I am stunned by the price. Laminate is not all that inexpensive any more either. Thanks for the party and have a great weekend!

Sorry your temps are still so hot. We've had a cool front blow through. Brought us some rain and much cooler temps. ;-)
The quilt top is such a clever design.

That is really hot for this time of the year. We are at 66, cloudy and gloomy. But such a nice change from the heat we have had. And RAIN. Wonderful rain!

Please please please don't send that heat to Kansas!

Elaine
I really enjoyed your features this week. I'd join your party, but the theme appears to be fall.
I'm still trying to hold on to summer as long as I can now that I'm back home and there are still some warm days-finally!

My sister is out in California visiting her newest grandchild and she called to tell me that it was going to be 106 to 109 there. It was 48 degrees in the morning here in Ohio and got to around 70 in the afternoon.
Love the features your shared from last week.

106?! Yikes! It's 46 here in Michigan right now. Of course, when our bitter winter gets here you'll be enjoying much warmer weather and I'll be terribly envious. You have such great links here, I can't wait to check them out:>) Try to stay cool Elaine!

Oh Elaine, I am still feeling so sorry for you dealing with all of that heat. We are getting warm days, but our nights are cool..

But you know, in a month when we are all brown and frosty here, we will so be envying you.
