How I Feel

This is how I feel about Downton Abbey right now. Really just after we lost Cybil. Julian you are killing us all with this plot line. Time for a miracle.

  1. So sad. I'm glad he was able to see the baby at least. :-(

  2. Totally agree....it reminded me of my old soap operas...they can't let anybody be happy?...that's why I quit watching them.....

  5. No, he's dead Kris....did you see his eyes? And the blood dripping....he's a goner alright! I almost dropped my knitting but I knew it was going to happen when they showed him driving fast in that convertible!
Yes, at least he saw the baby and Mary but that was the finale and didn't it just start in January? Do we have to wait until NEXT January now? I kept waiting for them (PBS) to tell us when season 4 would start but I never heard....that was the shortest season ever!!!! What are we supposed to do until then??? Any ideas? Will they bring back the one about the Midwives? Someone please help me! I'm feeling lost and alone! I so looked forward to Sunday nights....now my life is just an empty shell....(not really but it's pretty darn disappointing!) Maybe we could start a support group?

  6. I heard the actor playing Matthew wanted to do stage work and wanted out. I was hoping they would just replace him and have Matthew live but alas....that doesn't seem to be the case. Poor Mary.

  9. Yep he is a gonner!! The stage over Downton. What a goober. Are you kidding how can he do this to us? Did you all watch the new Upstairs Downstairs? It was very good too so I am hoping the new season starts up soon.

  11. Dan Stevens who plays Matthew, has moved to New York "for the freedom to pursue other parts".
That's why he had so many scenes in the last episode.

  14. Elaine, I'm pathetic(I know!), but you can ask my husband and he'll tell you that I feel as if I'm mourning a loss! We're both SOO dissapointed and sad! I literally bauled under my blanket at the end of the episode...with my husband there...and my in-loves!!! :/ He was one of my favorite characters and seeing him overjoyed with his new baby to dead was almost too much for me. I don't think it's good for the show!
    Blessings,
    Leslie

  15. Hated the ending, almost ruined the series for me.

  16. Julian Fellows was on a programme and explained that 'Matthew' wanted to pursue his career, he was disappointed but understood his wishes. It was an unexpected shock when we watched it over here. I think the best way is for no one to have children in that family!

  17. I agree what a bummer of an ending...I knew that Dan Stevens did not renew his contract and was leaving..however will I anticipate season 4?...ummm probably

  18. I felt the same way - geez, it took 3 seasons to get M & M together and now, poof. I read that both actors (Sybil and Matthew) wanted off the show, thus the plot lines killing them off. I also wish they would have replaced Matthew at least. Not to diss Sybil, but Branson is much more likable now, imo. I was thinking that perhaps they'll make Mary more 'interesting' now - she did start off with quite the scandalous behavior and isn't a very nice person (except with Matthew) ... aaahh, my husband just rolls his eyes at how into this show I get ... but it's such fun! Thank goodness Mr. Bates was cleared ... at least that storyline is happier for now
