I am in love with my camera phone. My old phone could not even receive photos. I am such a woman on the go that I love not lugging about my big camera. Admit it, you never came here for gorgeous photos. I don't crop or edit and anything. I take and load. If I did the other stuff I would never get a post up.
The big girls are laying and scratching and acting like fat and happy chickens. I can't wait to introduce them to the little ones. They have been such sweet girls, I hope they will be kind.
Look at that mohawk. This chick has my heart so bad that if it is a roo we may have to move so I can keep it. Isn't it fabulous??? It is so funny. It sleeps all splayed out with wings spread. I first saw that and thought it was dead. No, just a very relaxed sleeper.
Pickled beets and eggs. Found a gallon size jar at Target as you need to make this in glass and they are pretty so you want to see them. Couple of days sitting in the fridge until Easter and yum!
There will be no Sunny Simple Sunday as I am getting ready for a crowd and have lots of cooking to do. Enjoy Easter and have a wonderful weekend.
Your little chick is precious. I hope you have a very Blessed and Happy Easter. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy your sweet family! Blessings, my friend!
ReplyDeleteYour babies are so precious . Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteHow can chickens tug at ones heart??! I don't know the answer to that, but every time I visit your blog, I get a little closer to turning my old dog pen into a chicken run. :-) Have a wonderful Easter. Enjoy the company.

Is there a recipe for the pickled eggs? They look yummy. Hard boil and drop in beet juice?

My husband recently bought me an iPhone so now my friends are happy that I've joined the 21st century instead of using my old mobile that could not receive photos. I still do like my regular old point and shoot camera for photos though it is nice to have the phone camera in a pinch. I'm still learning all the ins and outs. I don't edit my photos either. What you see is what you get. Cute little chick. Have a wonderful Easter day! Tammy
ReplyDeletePerfect time for new cute chicks! Happy easter!
ReplyDeleteMy mom used to make pickled eggs. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteYou make me want to keep chickens, Elaine! No way I can. Those pickled eggs look so good and so pretty. I have to make myself a few. Happy Easter to you and your family. xo
ReplyDeleteAs always, love hearing about the chickens! Have a wonderful Easter!
ReplyDeleteLovely new chicks! I wish we had stores with more "exotic" breeds here -- or maybe not, since it would be oh so tempting and I'm pushing the envelope with the 6 chickens I have.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
The chick is so sweet. Wishes for a happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteI've never been a fan of anything pickled except for pickles themselves but they are really pretty. Love that baby chick. So hope she's a girl.
ReplyDeleteJust adore the darling chick photos! Have a wonderful Easter with your sweet family.

ReplyDeleteHi Elaine!
ReplyDeleteI love your little chicklette! He or She(???) is adorable. Love that hairdo!
Pickled eggs...What a great way to use your homegrown fresh eggs! Love the color, of course!
I, too, love my cell phone camera. I have been using it since the beginning of my blog. It's so handy and takes better pics than my big old cumbersome camera.
Thanks for the fun post!
Blessings and Happy Easter, my friend.

ReplyDeleteI love your little chick and I do hope it is a 'she'.......
I dont edit my photos either....I try to take the photo I want to use...I don't have time to do much editing.
I find I run out of time to actually blog....commenting is all I manage most weeks......my family has a FB page and we are constantly using it......it's the way they all include our Mum in their lives .. fun, but time consuming....Mum loves seeing what everyone's up to......
Sorry to waffle on...
Enjoy your Easter visitors....
Blessings..
