Six Weeks

Thought you might like an update on Cream Puff and Miss T. They are now six weeks old.

Last night we let them loose for a little roam in the backyard. They are such companion animals. If they loose sight of one another they squawk loudly. What do you think of Miss T's mohawk? Quite impressive isn't it?

They are now full time without a heat light in the old coop. It is safer for them as it is fully enclosed. I worry about cats getting them while they are still small.

Rocky is very much establishing the pecking order and gives them a peck every once in a while.

My big girls love checking out their digs and what these new interlopers are up to.

Raising chicks this year has been so much easier. I really fussed too much last year. First time mom and all.

Miss T's mohawk is so fabulous! They are cute together. I know what you mean about fussing less the 2nd time around! I totally freaked out with the first flock and micromanaged everything but it really doesn't have to be that hard.

They are really cute. I total understand fussing over your chickens. My husband says I worry to much over ours. He is probably right. But whats a mother to do.

Miss T is so cute! Is she a polish? I love the ones with fncy feathers, why have a plain white chicken when there are so many pretty one to be had?

They are both cute but Miss T looks a bit like a baby Cassowary.
