Easy Homemade Donuts / Campfire Donuts

If you want an easy way to make homemade donuts  or like me, a way to make campfire donuts, this is it!

When we are camping, it is all about the food and these campfire donuts quickly became a tradition as the we all just loved them.

Campfire Donuts

You need:
Sturdy frying pan. I use a cast iron skillet
Oil
Refrigerator biscuits in the tube. (Don't buy the flaky kind)
Cinnamon and sugar mixture. I mix about a cup and a half of sugar and a teaspoon of cinnamon
Small bowl of melted butter

Instructions:
Cut the wholes in the center of the biscuits with a sharp bottle cap or a knife. Save those holes for homemade donut holes.

Get about a half inch of oil good and hot. Fry the donuts about a minute or so on each side until they are a deep golden brown.

Dip each side in the melted butter and then dredge in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Prepare to be popular for making these.

We have made these homemade campfire donuts on our camp stove and at home. Use either the big donuts or the regular size just not the flaky donuts as they absorb too much oil
