Organized Laundry Room

I have been a busy girl today. Having company has left me with lots of laundry and bedding to catch up on.
You know I donned my pearls and heels to do my chores. Who doesn't?

Clean piles of laundry awaiting the little fairies to put them all away.

I like to keep all my supplies in one place including those to make my homemade laundry soap.

A basket on the dryer keeps at hand anything we need to do up a load.  Just lift to wipe down the dryer top.

Our home lacks good storage so I have to be creative. Instead of filling valuable cabinet space with my large baskets, they hang on the wall for easy access. They are pretty to look at too.

A counter in our service porch holds an old metal picnic basket called to duty as more creative storage.

  3. Love that cute little picnic basket. I make my own laundry soap also but I use Fels Naptha instead of Zote. Zote is easier to find, maybe I'll give it a try. I really like line drying in the summer too, jeans dry so much faster in the sun than they do in the dryer. Thanks for the pics of your laundry room, I'm inspired to clean mine up now.

  5. Everything looks so neat and tidy. I've never thought to make my own laundry soap. Does it save money to make your own? I'll have to look up some recipes.

  6. Great storage ideas my friend. However, while reading this post, I had to go to the kitchen because for some reason I couldn't stop craving a "Peeps" :-) What a cute idea that was. I gobble them up so quickly though, I'm not the chocolate lover in the family, but I am the marshmallow girl :-) Maybe it has something to do with my name.

  7. I love your laundry area. I so want to re-organize and pretty up the laundry area.
    May put that on the list of projects for next week!
    All my laundry fairies grew up and moved away...I'm training second (...let's see, 1,2...No, 3rd) generation laundry fairies. My favorite part is they way they toddle through the clothes line...as the sheets and towels flap in the wind...{smile}
    Have a blessed Resurrection Week!

  8. Thanks for the kind comments on my blog. (I think my grandchildren are pretty cute, too.) I checked out your 50's kitchen and felt right at home. I grew up in the 50's and our kitchen was very similar. It brought back warm memories. Thanks!
