What to do on a Rainy Day

We had a very rainy stormy day here in SoCal. In fact I was caught without an umbrella just as I was checking out of the grocery store. Was totally soaked by the time I got home.

Well of course the pooches have to be indoors. This dog is almost ten but acts like she is two. One downside to rainy days is her restlessness after a while.

You keep peeking out the kitchen window to see what the weather is doing. Especially when loved ones are on the road driving.

When the weather breaks for a minute you run the legs off of all three year olds.

You are thankful for a warm and cozy home.

And you make your oldest daughter's day by making chicken and dumplings for dinner. I sent her a text and she was home within the hour. Her favorite.

  1. You had a great day, rain or no rain. I'm a read and have a cup of coffee and just enjoy the quiet kind of gal on rainy days.

  7. Hi there, I guess most of Ca. is getting hammered with rain. Last time we vacationed on Kauai it rained a lot but so far it has been nice and sunny. I love your red & white pieces-especially your enamel wear coffee pot. Hope the sun comes out soon.

  8. Good Morning Elaine Sweetie...
Love seeing the pics of the two girls running. That is priceless. Love, love it.

Where is that darn rain? We were begging for some here in the Phoenix valley, but we got cooler temps and wind only. We are at 56 degrees today. Cool temps are nice though.

Those chicken and dumplings looks so yummy. If I lived closer I would be knocking on your door as well. Yummmy friend.

Have a glorious weekend. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  11. Last year we longed for days like that. This year we've had enough of those days that the drought is a distant memory (although technically we're still in drought mode) ...take care and stay dry.

    love the chicken and dumplin's!

  12. I love a rainy day...when it is NOT cold and accompanied by heavy winds! Love your little one racing down the street. I hope your other "kid" got outside to cure his restlessness, too. Happy Saturday- xo Diana

  13. I love rainy days....we get so much sun here and nice days I get bored with it and want some variety...just not severe though. That picture of the little one running down the street is precious...made me smile...children really know how to enjoy life, don't they? Oh, and chicken and dumplings? YUMMO! Your lucky daughter and all of your family for such a cozy "rainy day" meal! You are such a great Mom!

  14. Raining here today, on and off. Nothing serious, just a bit of a rumble and light showers. The dogs here are always hearing any thunder long before we do, but the grass is green and the flowers are growing and the house is warn despite the dampness outside. Got a lot to be thankful for,
    (Hugs) Susanne :)
