After I drop the last kid at school and I walk in the house, I am usually starving. My new favorite breakfast is something I really look forward to. Many days I will treat myself to a little breakfast and a fresh cup of coffee.
I put a new cup in the Keurig, my new fave is Starbucks Pike Place Roast. Boy is it good. Add some creamer and splenda and turn the little frying pan on.
Cook another minute or two on the other side. I sit at the table often with the lap top and have a nice breakfast just for me and a few minutes of peace before I start my daily chores.
Enjoy the quietness and your breakfast. I am still madly in love with your yellow Keurig. I just wished I liked coffee, I would so have one.
ReplyDeleteblessings to you.
Yum! I made this same breakfast a week or so ago and now you've reminded to make it again. :o)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a coffee drinker (even though I LOVE the smell of coffee) so would add a cup of tea instead. Either way, it's a good way to start the day.
Have a great weekend, Elaine.
I used to make those for my kids! I think you have the cheeriest looking kitchen ever! ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteOh friend, I too love fresh coffee and that same egg dish; I call it Mystery Egg or Egyptian Egg, and don't know how it got these names. I like the yellow color of your coffee maker.
ReplyDeleteI keep meaning to try that. but i have never done it ... must do it asap!! looks so good & simple too. maybe for breakfast tomorrow. big hugs. (:
ReplyDeleteI'll be over tomorrow for breakfast!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks delicious and I love your sunny color pallet too! Thanks for sharing!
Sounds like the perfect alone time! Sure looks good too! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThat is so good for you, too...lots of healthy protein! I love eggs cooked any way..and coffee with Splenda! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteCrack another egg, I'm on my way! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely way to start the day.
I can just picture you there, Elaine! Sounds good (except the coffee...I'd have my glass of diet dew). :) It's nice to have a few quiet moments before you begin the busy(ness) of the day! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Tammy
I'm not a coffee drinker--too many English genes, I guess. Your yellow Keurig is really cute, though.
ReplyDeleteI purchased a tiny skillet the other day to cook one egg. I love it! I love breakfast and can eat breakfast any time of the day.
Egg in the hole, that's what we call it..I've seen named different things...they are good arn't they?
ReplyDeleteespecially with homemade bread...my youngest loves these too. With a good cuppa....to start your day....
Yep, nothing like a good breakfast, mine is similar only not so fresh eggs as yours, which I am sure are sooo good. xo
ReplyDeleteYou will think me strange but you know what I love about that colorful scene most [beside the COLOR] is tht the Keurig does NOT LOOK MODERN..never have seen that model. SHARP!
ReplyDeleteyou are so smart to take that early break-it's FEEDING YOURSELF...in more ways than food-a time when you can catch our breath literally, time to reflect on life, family and the day's schedule ahead of you..I hope you have a little devotional material closeby-somethng to encourage and inspire too..:^)

Your photos are delightful. It's nice to just sit, relax and breathe after a hectic a.m. Hope you enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI always called it "egg in a frame" and it was my favorite snack when I was in college. Sounds pretty good right now though:)
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to treat ourself to a good breakfast! I love my morning cup of coffee too, I buy our coffee from Guatemala.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of the kitchen counter with the reds and yellow!! So pretty - and inviting!
ReplyDeletePerfect indeed!!! I love your yellow kurig!
ReplyDeleteElaine - Sounds like the perfect way to start the day. (Although I would have to have a Diet Coke instead of coffee!)
ReplyDeleteJudy
Nice to have a bit of quiet time in the A.M. :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
Oh blissful quiet time. Your breakfast looks sooooooo good. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHi Elaine,
ReplyDeletePerfect start to the morning! Love your red and yellow accents. My kitchen is a deep yellow with a lot of red and black accents. Can't resist bright pops of color!
-Lynn
It's a favorite here too! We call it Toad In The Hole. Love it with nice thick sour dough!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice relaxing way to start the day :)
ReplyDeleteRobyn
I hope you had a great day! It stared out well, right!?!?!? I love your little yellow Kuerig.
ReplyDeleteThis looks soooo good and that's no ordinary egg. It's a golden orange, fresh, tasty egg from your very own chickens. It doesn't get any better than this, Elaine!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend,
Carolynn xo
What a lovely way to start the day Elaine. We call that breakfast Toad in Hole or Egg Bread and it is a favourite here too.
ReplyDeleteLike many others have said, I love the colours in your kitchen too, so bright and cheery!
I start my morning with oatmeal (porridge) and orange juice, followed by a nice cup of tea...I'm not a coffee drinker, although I do have one from time to time :)
Enjoy your weekend!
xx

I, too, am envious of the yellow Keurig! My kitchen is red and yellow, too:)
ReplyDeleteLovely blog!
You must have peaked in my window this morning...I had this for breakfast. I remember my Mom making these for me.
ReplyDeleteBalisha
Oh my... I don't drink coffee but I need that yellow maker and a red cup. Fresh eggs from your own chickens? Need that too. Sounds like a perfect start to the day to me. :)
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh! This so good!
ReplyDeleteSmiles, Dottie
I love seeing pictures in your kitchen Elaine.
ReplyDeleteIt's a Sunny Simple Kitchen!
Grew up eating the Egg in a basket...and the "Littles" love them too! Especially, when they've helped Honey collect the eggs!
...Pat
I do homegrown eggs on the weekends, they taste great!
ReplyDeleteWell since I am reading this before breakfast I think this is what I should make!:)
ReplyDeleteLooks delish!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Hi Elaine! Thank you for linking up in my Beautiful Sunday series. You made me happy :D
ReplyDeleteBreakfast is my favorite meal of the day too. I love the egg and sandwich toast as well. But what I appreciate best in your breakfast is the fact that you generate your own eggs, fresh from your farm. Very fresh and healthy.
Have a great week ahead!
Love your cheery kitchen! I have wanted to try egg-in-the-hole for a long time, maybe I will try it this morning!
ReplyDeleteLooks yummy! Thanks for sharing how to make this...never heard of it but have to try it now. :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks delicious, Elaine! I adore breakfast food but have never seen this before. I'm going to try it on Saturday! Yum!!
