I had the best time with my blogging girlies yesterday. I was pooped when I got home. I want to show you all the cute things they gave me for my b-day but I haven't even got a cup of coffee in me yet so I will just show you some vintage goodies I picked up in our shopping yesterday.
I am really loving old Thermos type decanters and have a small collection started.
Shelly took us to all sorts of places and had a quick eye to scope out what each of us liked to collect. It was like having your own vintage personal shopper. I know Patty and Debbie know exactly what I am talking about. It was a riot.
The tray with the glads and the old red wire dish drainer were two of my faves. We missed our other shopping buddy Kris as she was sick and had to stay home. We missed you Kris!!
Hi Elaine!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great time!! I just love the Thermos - what a great find, I hear they are hard to find in good shape. I think it's so wonderful that you get together with blogging friends. Can't wait to see the rest of your treasures!
Hugs,
Barb
I did the same thing this week, meeting a fellow blogger and shopping with friends. You finds are wonderful..I would of bought each and everyone of them!
ReplyDeleteHi Elaine...

Warmest wishes,

Happy Birthday Elaine!! Love your vintage finds, and can't wait to see the rest of your goodies. I have a vintage canister that matches your tray. I've been more and more drawn to the old thermoses too, but so far have resisted buying any!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lot of fun! I have a thermos like that that belonged to my uncle. He use to take it out on the boat fishing. I never thought of bringing it out of the closet to display. I love the ideas I get on Blogs

Happy Birthday! Sounds like a wonderful day. You found some really cute things!
ReplyDeleteLooks like such fun. You'll have to share the special places you went to. I've been wanting to venture down to Orange, but now with gas prices the way they are it might not be happening.
ReplyDeleteYou found some great things!!! It looks like we like the same things.
ReplyDeleteI am itching to go antiquing so badly right now. It is driving me nuts to not take off, but I want to save money for the flea market next week.
BTW, Happy Birthday!!
Shopping can be tiring! But it's a "good" tiring. I am crushing on the yellow tin canister. What are you going to use it for?
ReplyDeleteMy fav. is the red dish drainer and the cute yellow tin... Looks like you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteVery cute finds and sounds like you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a wonderful day! I would have been drawn to those same things. What a fun way to spend time with friends!

What a fun day!!!!
ReplyDeleteFun for all is sounds Elaine. The red dish drainer is pretty. I was looking at new sleek dish drainers and they are $70.00-oh my goodness I would never ever pay that.
ReplyDeleteLove them all Elaine!
ReplyDeleteThose items remind me of my childhood. We had vintage things just like that in our kitchen, except back then they weren't vintage.....They were new!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Your vintage finds are so lovely. I enjoy shopping in vintage shoppes as well. I love it when I find great treasures at amazing deals. So worth it! Thanks for sharing. Blessings,
ReplyDeleteLisa
What fun finds! I love old thermoses, but I hardly ever see them in Thrift stores.

Hi Elaine. What a cute haul!!! Love the thermos and drainer! I got an aqua one recently that I love!! I woke up feeling so much better today. No more terrible sore throat. Even managed to meet our daughter and some other family members down at Laguna Beach for lunch and so enjoyed the gorgeous day.
ReplyDeleteI will be looking forward to the next time!! Hope you will be doing something fun tomorrow for your birthday!
Hugs,
Kris

Wow! You scored big time! I have been looking for a red dish drainer so I could park my files in it like Brenda did over at The Cozy Little House but so far old or new I can't find any. You really got some nice things! Great way to celebrate a birthday! Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHi Elaine! Oh, you poor pooped one! Shopping can tire you out! I love your finds and that you had such a great time with your blogging friends. I'm a tad late getting around today for my visits so I hope you got all the coffee you needed.

Love your vintage finds! Vintage thermos jugs make very cute vases for flowers, but then I'm sure you've already tried that.
