Crater Lake

; ;
We took a road trip today to see Crater Lake in Oregon. It is the deepest lake in the U.S. formed from the crater of a volcano. I did not edit the color of these photos. The water is so blue because of the depth.

My brother and I.

The white you see is snow. There was lots of it too. It was in the 50s.

The island in the lake is called Wizard Island.

 Is that blue or what?

This was Q's first time in the snow. She had to throw a few snow balls.

Cousins!

Really enjoying our time. It has been a great week so far. We also went to a few other wonderful places. I am going to share later. Tomorrow is the 4th so we are hanging out at my brother's for bbq, swimming and fireworks. I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

Hi Elaine...You're in my neck of the woods. I live just a few hours north of Crater Lake in Central Oregon. I couldn't help but notice that you were all bundled up! It's hard to believe it's the 4th of July and it's in the 30s here in Bend!
Have a wonderful time with your brother and have a safe 4th of July!
Blessings,
Carolynn

I was reading some of your past posts and we have a lot in common. My brother lives in Oregon, too. Your potato salad contains as many eggs as my mom's; which I have always considered the BEST, but yours looks like it could give hers a run. Sorry, Mom.:-(
But, I had to write after reading your tips for traveling. You are brilliant, bringing a crock pot on vacation! I tip my thinking cap to you!
Enjoy your visit, I have to travel 'cross country to see my big bro!

Awe-inspiring! Beautiful! What a gorgeous place to see God's creation on display. I'd love to visit there sometime, but I've never been in the north-west. Great pictures of you and your family, Elaine!

What beautiful photos! And what a great place to visit. There are a lot of people in the country who would like to feel temps in the 50's right now! :-)

Happy Independence Day!

Your photos and story reminded me that it's been too long since I've visited Crater Lake. And it's only a four-hour drive for me. Time to plan a trip! Enjoy the rest of your vacation in Oregon!

Wow, that lake is absolutely stunning! Have never seen water so blue. I'll bet Oregon is a beautiful state - I've never been there, but would love to visit one day. Looks so funny to see everyone bundled up when it's 100 degrees here (northern IL)!

What a great vacation you're having! The pictures are totally gorgeous! I will take 50's any day compared to the heat here! It's almost 8 p.m. and it is still 101...don't even ask what it got to today. I think it's call slow-roasted! LOL! Happy 4th to you a day late! Enjoy! Lovely family photos too! Who's watching the chickens? Someone I hope! You'll probably go home to 2 dozen eggs!
