Hubby and an EGG!!!

Now is that a great shot I was sent this morning or what? While I slept last night this was where my hubby was. Just hanging over the lights of L.A.. He is awesome. At least to me.

And guess what? I got an egg today. I heard the familiar bawk bawk of the egg laying and sure enough, Flower Muffin layed her first egg since November when she started to molt. I am so happy to gather eggs again. It was smallish like when she first started laying so she is getting back into the groove dear girl.

Is it possible to love your chickens this much? I need to live in the country and have a flock.

Congrats to Flower Muffin on her new line of eggs! :)
I think any man that can do what your husband does by night...AND COME HOME and decorate the way he does is awesome in my book.
Lights are important when you're trying to decorate.

have a great Tuesday! Pat

I love the picture. It's awesome. Is he telephone or electric? So many people in my family worked for telephone companies including me and DH when we first got married.

Love the egg too!

It is very satisfying to collect eggs. My mama once had chickens. Your husband is amazing.

Love that shot of your husband! And I know how cold it must have been hanging up there at night too! Not too mention windy a lot of nights, I've found. I always have appreciated the work linemen do to keep us all connected, warm, lit up and comfortable. Ann

Yay for egglaying again! And that is an AMAZING picture of your husband!

We are in for some big weather here tonight that will likely have the utility workers restoring power before it's all over. I'll be holding them and their families in my thoughts.

My husband is a hard worker & very smart BUT a clutz! I would end up in a crazy house from the worry if he did what your husband does! Thank the good Lord for men like your fella!!

You got an egg!!! Only folks like us (because I'm the same way) can know the joy of chickens and getting eggs! I love my girls and I love my rooster. I talk to them everyday. I give them treats.

Aren't we lucky folks?!

I think people who work on electric or telephone are some of the best, where would we be without them. My brother worked on telephone lines til he retired. Love your egg, we visited our cousin Amy in the country today and her girls started laying a few days ago, she was just as excited are you are! She names all her chickens and loves them too.

We have 4 in the city, that's enough of a flock for lots of eggs! Mine only do mini-molts, so we still have eggs. Do you have additional light for the winter in the coop? We added 4 hours via a flourescent fixture, works great! A LOT more eggs this winter...

That is such a neat photo! Who took it? Hooray for Flower Muffin!!!! I got a small one today too, from one of the green layers. It is so nice to have eggs, and I too love my chickens!!!! You need a bigger place to have more Elaine!!!!

No you can't love them to much. I have 6 chickens. My friends love seeing me show up on their door step with eggs. I have been lucky this year. Mine haven't stop laying yet. I am still getting 5 to 6 eggs a day.

How fun..your own eggs! It would be fun to have an area big enough for a flock of them. Enjoy the end of January,

Your hubs looks so brave out there! What a beautiful photo! That one is a keeper for the album for sure. I'll bet your egg was delish. Did you make a cake or fry her up? Or egg supply is running low...I'm anxious for my mom to bring us more, but I've been working weekends, so she has no time to stop by. My one son ate our last egg this morning for breakfast. I swear, it's like a race down tot eh fridge in the morning sometimes, the way my boys go after those eggs. Still looking for our perfect property! We looked at a few last week, but I didn't get "that feeling." One was beautiful, but right on a busy sort-of-highway and I just didn't feel right about it w/ the kids...too many unknown truckers going by into the sunset. Figured I was getting that bad vibe for a reason and that's it on that one for me. But the search is on! Happy Eggs to you...Be well, Andrea B.

I am always thankful for our electricity. That is an awesome picture. Is it good enough quality to enlarge and frame?
My stepson is also a lineman and my husband keeps their fleet of trucks maintained so the linemen and water dept. and street dept. can all get out to those calls.
I love modern things like power and clean running water.

Wow your hubby has a dangerous job. God bless him.. And yes it is possible to love your chicken that much. My husband and I had about 12 chickens and 1 beautiful rooster until Nov. of last yr. My husband had to have his entire spine reconstructed and due to my own health neither one of us could care for them so we had to give them away and yes we were heart broken. We still miss them.

That is an awesome picture of your husband! I am scared to death of heights so PTL there are people that aren't or we'd all have dirty windows and no electricity!
Good news on the egg...I think Spring is coming early....although it's freezing here today but yesterday and the day before were 70's and it's just a feeling...dandelions are up here...hmmm?
