It is about 5:00 a.m. here and I am up early. I like to get up with my husband and get him ready and out the door if I can. I shuffle out to the kitchen and get the coffee brewing.
My feet are cold so I grab a couple of mismatched socks from the laundry basket.
It is totally dark out my kitchen window.
As is common, there is a kitty that has snuck into the laundry basket.
Aw my eggs are in there now with the store bought. Makes for the perfect fried egg sandwich for my hubby to take out the door.
And because I am hokey, I write him a little note to tuck in his lunchbox. It has been a long week for him and I want him to know how much I appreciate him.
What a great post...your mornings sound remarkably like mine. Although I like to sleep in, I enjoy early mornings and I think the hubs enjoys me being up with him in the morning before he heads to work. It's the little things in life...have a great weekend Elaine,

so cute & sweet too!! i love your mixed matched socks. do you have a hungry dryer too? ha. ha!! ( :
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have a nice morning routine and get to see you husband off to work. I am not a morning person and never get up early. Which works well for my husband. He likes to get ready for work alone so he doesn't have to talk to anyone!
ReplyDeleteYou are a great person to get up so early for your hubby....Love the pic of the kitty in the basket too :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet and I'll bet your husband appreciates that. I try to remember to tell mine how much I appreciate him once in awhile. We are blessed to have such wonderful men in our lives.
ReplyDeleteI think the early morning hours are the best time - everything is dark and quiet. So nice of you to pack food and love notes for your hubby!
ReplyDeleteIt makes me smile to know there are some married couples that are truly in sinc, in love and happy to boot!

The love note is so sweet! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is the little things!! I am sure your husband loved the note! And hooray for eggs again! Mine are laying every day now. Love the mismatched socks.

You are SO sweet to get up and make breakfast for your hubby at 5 a.m. I've never done that but I tell myself he likes his quiet time in the morning. I think I'll ask him today, after 20 years it's time I knew the facts!

Awwww so sweet and inspiring. xo
ReplyDeleteSo sweet Elaine!
ReplyDeleteGreat way to start off the day!!
You know, this is what life is about. :) I like this post.
ReplyDeleteHello from Millbrook NY, I enjoy early mornings when everyone is sleeping. Your photos are great. Enjoy your weekend, Anna
ReplyDeleteI love mornings like this.
ReplyDeleteSweet post, Elaine. That note is extra special.
ReplyDeleteI've had a similar routine all of our married life too! I enjoy getting the morning coffee and bringing up two cups in the morning. We enjoy a few moments catching up listening to the weather and then he hops in the shower and I go downstairs to iron his clothes. It's a small way to remind each other why we do what we do everyday! 29+ yrs and counting, must be working! Nice post, I agree!
ReplyDeleteI love mornings when I am allowed to pay attention to the details. I've always been a "note in the lunch (and/or pocket) kind of person. Have a wonderful weekend. Bonnie
ReplyDeleteSince my hubby is now trucking I only have 2 mornings a week to get up with him. It's a nice time when the house is quiet cause the kids are asleep and it's just the 2 of us. Enjoyed your sweet post. ~Susie~
ReplyDeleteIm smelling that coffee now!! I crave it!! How depressing life would be without coffee in the mornings!
ReplyDeleteWednesday I thought about you & the post you did the other day with the picture of your husband doing the line work! I told you my husband is a clutz (bless him!)..he is really an accident going somewhere!
Wednesday morning he decided to cut a hornets nest down (empty I may add!)that he has been eyeing for sometime. He cut his inner arm with a saw...had to get him a nice pile of stitches!
One of his employees is an EMT (thank ya LORD)and got him to urgent care. The doctor bragged about how tough he was while they were sewing him up (while I am giving him "the look" from across the room that says WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!??!).
All my husband could say was "Well, if I'm going to be stupid, I have to be tough!".
AND I WAS THINKING OF YOU & YOUR HUSBAND!!! LOL!!
You look like me with those mismatched socks, hey who says they have to match? Sweet little note.
ReplyDeleteElaine, what a sweet post!! I think you guys have Valentines year round, 365! That is so awesome You are both lucky ones!
ReplyDeleteI love this post...I'm just now seeing it...how did I miss it?...anyway....great post...:)))
