It's The Little Things

You know how it goes. You start decorating and the urge to keep tucking little things here and there just takes over. My crock of red and green rolling pins gets a Christmas towel for dressing. Forgive the cord to nowhere. It goes up to the garland on my shelf. Cords all over really are the nails on the chalkboard for me.

Even my soap dish gets a sprig of greenery and a snowman pick.

A tucked in vintage Christmas post card.

Gingie garland hiding up on the kitchen curtains.

You say you won't put as much stuff out and I didn't, but not by much. I still keep pulling things out of boxes and placing them here and there. It is the magic of the season I guess. My kids have all passed colds down and the little one finally caught it so it has been a quiet week here. Well, quiet as a house with six people and four animals can be.

Seems like I add something everyday and before I know it, my house looks like the North Pole...
I have one of those colds myself...not fun!

I love all of your little touches. I too said I was not going to put out as much, but then my 4 year old sidekick got me all fired up, and before we knew it....the halls were decked!!! I gave him a box of things I wasn't going to use, and let him decorate his room/play room anyway he wanted. He had a ball!!!! What a life saver that turned out to be! Hope the colds are swiftly finished!!
hugs,
Kris

I like your idea of putting rolling pins into a crock. I've got a couple of those big crocks and want to use them. I really like your "little details", it's the icing on the cake!

Simply Adorable should be the name of your kitchen! I love your festive finishing touches! I was looking at past Christmas blog posts and noticed that you have a gingerbread theme in your kitchen...I do, too!!! It's so fun, isn't it? (I need to take a few pics.) You have great ideas to glean from!
Merry Christmas

I can understand about a large family and colds. I come from a family of 8. When one gets a cold we all did.My poor mother was run ragged.

I think the little touches here and there add so much to the whole Christmas decorating scenario. Something different and so easy to do with what you've already got. Looks cute.
