Super Simple DIY Coffee Foam

make your own coffee foam, DIY, recipe, coffee

You all may have guessed I love coffee. BUT, I am also pretty frugal and though I love good coffee, I rarely buy coffee from Starbucks, preferring to make my own at home and save a ton of money.
I love a large milk foam on top of a good cup of coffee and figured why buy a foam maker when I can figure out how to do this at home. I have seen the tips to shake it in a jar but I like hot steamy foam on my coffee so here is what I came up with. So easy.

Frugal DIY Coffee Foam
You will need:
A small saucepan
A whisk
Whole milk or half and half

Pour into the sauce pan about a quarter cup of milk. Set on the stove on a low/medium flame. As the milk heats just whisk like crazy. I tip the pan to the side and whisk lots of air into the milk creating the nice foam. When done, just pour onto your hot cup of coffee and enjoy! If you want to get really fancy you could sprinkle on cocoa, cinnamon or vanilla powder.

  2. I am not a coffee drinker and I do not get the trend to buy coffee at Starbuck, Coffee Bean, etc. What a lot of money and calories spent!
