If there is a horizontal space in this house, I am going to decorate it. I love to take the tops of our tall furniture and create little vignettes. This is a great way to squeeze out extra display space.
Disclaimer: I can't take credit for these as my hubby arranged the spaces but I told him to find a place for these things and he is 6'4" so he doesn't require a ladder. I sort of helped direct him right?
This tall cabinet has been in our house since we were married. The little barrow still needs a little something there in the middle. You can see the new crown molding is still not painted so it shows the wood filler. I am almost done in my bedroom and will move to the molding next and then my kitchen. Can't wait to paint that.
This collection of odds and ends is dressed in more prim colors.
The basket was 50 cents from the thrift store.
Even the top of a small shelf gets an old chalkboard and a little lamb for company.
I already showed you this space before. The top of the china cabinet is not even safe.
I love your style! But then, we gals are a whole lot alike. (Good to have a tall man around, I bet.)

Love your vignettes. They are wonderful and all of your accessories are fabulous. I love primitives. Great job on all of your displays. Hugs, Marty P.S. These pics are perfect to link to my Table Top Tuesday party. Hope to see you there.
ReplyDeleteI have a cedar closet that needs a total makeover. I love what you did to yours....I think I just make copy it :) I love your deco :)
ReplyDeleteI to use all open tops of things, dream of open spaced cabinets :)
ReplyDeleteLove the tree, may I as where you purchased it?
Something for every space, and a space for everything....
ReplyDeleteI love those tall spaces to decorate. I think they give a room more character. Looks great and it sure is nice to see the Mr. helping out! Thanks for the potato salad recipe too, just had to make it this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love your high up spaces and the way that you decorate! We have very similar tastes!!
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing - no flat surface goes undecorated! The second grouping is my favorite (the one with the basket). Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI Love it! I am your newest follower. Your blog is cute! I would love it if you stopped by and became my newest follower!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! I just love your style and now can you come over and help me redo my book shelves? :)

You are so good (well and your hubbie) because I do not decorate those high spaces!!! They are all bare except for the very tops of my bookcases. You are inspiring me yet again, Elaine!
