Just a quicky post while I have some internet service.
We had my daughter's friend over for dinner. She is the sweetest of girls but going through a rough time with her divorced parents and living situation and though our little one was climbing all over during dinner wanting a Popsicle and our little dog was whining as she too wanted some BBQ chicken, I just felt so thankful.
Thankful that so far my home is intact. None of us knows when this could end but for now I am so happy to have us all together.
Thankful that even though our house may seem loud and chaotic to some, the sounds are of a thriving family just trying to make its way in the world. Parents trying to raise ethical, hard working kids who love God and family and remember their priorities.
I am so thankful to be happy with the small things in life like Hazelnut creamer and just sitting with the kids having a Popsicle.
This is it folks. All that matters to me in the world. Nothing else really matters.
So true, sometimes we need to stop and be thankful.

Beautiful post Elaine. You're so right..a thriving life means a noisy home. Laughter and spats are part of the package. Thanks for the reminder to count it all as joy and a blessing!
ReplyDeleteExactly! That is what it is all about! Nice looking family. It really is hard to keep things together these days. Enjoy them while the house is busy and loud. We sure miss those days, as the house is kinda quiet now. Our youngest of four children is 18 and heads to college in the fall. The years go so quickly. Enjoy the weekend with all of those treasures!! ~Sara

ReplyDeleteThis made me smile, and the creamer makes coffee so much better.
ReplyDeleteLove and family is all you need, my dear friend. You are a great mother and those girls are going to know how to be fantastic adults, as evidenced by their mother's gifts of insight and sense of responsibility. I commend you.

How sweet glad you could enjoy a simple moment.
ReplyDeleteLife is not about loving things and using people, but about loving people and using things. There is nothing more beautiful in life than the blessings of family and friends and special little things (like flavored creamer and popsicles) that make life so enjoyable. Your family photo warms my heart and makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteAMEN Sister!! You said it all. Love it. and thank you. Be sure to email me your address before you leave for your vacation so you have a surprise when you return. Let me know the date you are returning so I don't send it too early and it melts!! NOT Good!
