Texas Trash Candy Recipe

This is a sweet and salty Texas trash candy recipe or as many know it, white trash candy recipe. Either way this sweet and salty snack is loved by my kids and it my nephew's favorite homemade white chocolate candy snack.

pretzels, peanuts, Chex, white chocolate, snack

Have you ever had Texas trash? It is so yummy. Some friends of ours, transplants from Texas, brought it on a camping trip my daughter went on and she came home and told me how great it was. The perfect mix of sweet and salty.

The recipe will be sketchy as they just told my girl what was in it and I just always pour the ingredients in a pan and then add the melted chips.

Texas Trash
Servings: Approx. 8-9 cups when done.
Prep time: 15-20 minutes

2 cups Chex Rice Chex
2 cups of pretzel sticks
2 cups of salted peanuts
2 cups of either Cheerios or Rice Krispies. (I use whatever I have on hand)
2 cups of white chocolate chips

Mix the first four ingredients in a 9x13 cake pan. Melt the white chips and pour over the dry ingredients. Mix quickly to coat. Let cool in your refrigerator and then break up and enjoy. Store in a sealed container in a cool place but not in the refrigerator.

The variations on this are endless. You could use chocolate chips instead or add m & m candies. The minis are great for this. I used red white and blue ones one year for the Fourth of July.
