I am having the best time changing up my little shelf re-do in the kitchen. For St. Patty's and later Easter, I am bringing in some vintage greens.
The little basket and dotty bowl are from Target dollar section this week.
The little vintage cookbooks were grandmas.
Vintage reds and greens are my favorite combo.
All so cute. The dollar section at Target is just the best. I saw the cute flour sifter that you have with the lady on it in an antique last weekend. Cost a forture....you have a treasure there. I love it. Blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteI love all of the bright colors and that little basket makes me want to drive over to Target! I started a little giveaway this morning! Hope you can stop by soon! Hugs! ♥
ReplyDeleteHello Elaine,
ReplyDeleteLove your decor and those vintage books are awesome!

Your little shelf is so cute. I love the little pot with the red flowers on it. And the book Pies Men Love, that's cute :)
ReplyDeleteLove your little shelf! Love everything about your house!

Elaine, your shelf is just wonderful and so fun to have a place to play. Doesn't it make your day to see something different and when you shop your house all the changes are totally free. I call this cheap entertainment. Love your new display. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteThe green added in looks marvelous, I LOVE the biscuits container. I would love to have one like that.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Cindy

ReplyDeletecute little shelf, it must be fun to change it up seasonally, thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteI had to chuckle when I saw the cookbook, Pies Men Like!!! I really do like your new arrangement of things. Vintage red and greens are so homey and look so good in your kitchen.
ReplyDelete(Also, thanks for leaving me the nice comment on my blog yesterday!)
Blessings,
Leslie
I have never had a red and green kitchen...but I really don't think you can top those colors for a vintage look! Your shelf is cute as usual!
ReplyDeleteI love all the vintage items. It reminds me of kitchens when I was a very little girl. Your grandma's cookbook is great! Are there any pies men don't like? lol ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteToo cute Elaine, you have such cute taste. I have that same cookbook. Thats the vintage lady in me.
ReplyDeleteSmiles to you my friend.
Debbie
Hi Elaine,
ReplyDeleteYou did have a good time.... it looks adorable, like the green dotted bowl and basket you got at Target. They have some pretty neat stuff in that dollar area at times. Always fun to check anyway, never know what you might find there.
Have a great day hon,
Blessings, Nellie
Just cleaning and getting ready my son and his wife to come over tonight for din din. Haven't seen them for a few weeks, so looking forward to it.
Elaine
ReplyDeleteI think that is so neat you have a shelf you change with the holidays.
You have a nice collection of retro goods. I love the pie book title. It's really reflective of how important it was for a woman to please her husband!
Cute shelf and decor Elaine. I like the "Pies Men Like" cookbook! ;)

Super sweet! Was the red and white bowl, or the green and white bowl from Target?
ReplyDeleteMany Blessings,
Melissa
Your shelf is so cute! I love how you are adding the vintage green and red. I'm ready to bring on the green for March and then Easter after that! hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteLove your shelf. It is so cheerful. I am giggling over that cookbook. I haven;t met a pie yet that men don't like :)
ReplyDeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteThe cookbook makes me think of the "Box Dinners" that women would make and men would bid on and then eat together! What fun! LOL
I like the biscuit tin and that Picnic Tin at the bottom is so cute! Makes me remember that mom used to have one that was red plaid--wonder if it is still around--perhaps in the barn????? Okay, time to barn shopping! LOL
The shelf looks great! I really like your green dotted bowl!!
ReplyDeleteOH, I really love all of your cute vintage pieces, especially that green biscuit tin :) :) Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your collection of vintage tin pieces--that sifter looks like one my great aunts had and just brings back a warm feeling. Our only nearby Target is in a city with a horrible public parking garage that is not quite safe, so I never get there. But I will make an effort! Also, I have never seen my hubby turn down any pie! Linda
ReplyDeleteI love your little shelf too and especially that adorable toy stove. Charming!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Susan and Bentley
Hi there - visiting you becuase I put up a project on BNOTP - you were right before my project (Glazed Burlap Wainscoting). Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteI love the items you chose - where oh where did you get the cookbook "Pies Men Like!" That's a real throwback - predating Real Men Don't Like Quiche!
I have to do more scouting at Flea Markets and Antique Shops. I finally went to an Estate Sale this Saturday and found a great Dining Room set (I have to do a little bit of re-painting but - not too much). The table was hidden under a table cloth with a lot of china and other smaller accessories - and I had to hunt around for the chairs - but I was shocked no one scooped it up. Have to do that more often!
Linda
I always enjoy looking at your little shelf. Thanks for sharing the updates.

I think you are very good with vignettes...and so is Mr. Sunny! I know Princess Q loves playing with this little shelf, too, because it is right on her level!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun vignette, but you make me want to go to Target!
ReplyDelete- The Tablescaper
I have that same picnic basket/tin! So cute! Love your shelf stylings! :)
