We are all set for Ribfest on Memorial Day. It is our annual family barbecue. It is usually only us so very relaxed but I like to make it festive. The kids look forward to it all week.
Q and I made the poster yesterday. Now I am not a crafty gal so don't laugh.
The bunting has been hung.
The flags have been placed.
And of course we will end the day with our annual dessert, good ole jello poke cake.
You can find the recipe on my recipes page.
It all looks great! Is Memorial Day Sat. or Sun.? ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteDessert first please! Everything looks and sounds like a great time!
ReplyDeleteOh yum!!!! Everything looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat are you talking about? that poster is darn cute! Better than I would have done!
ReplyDeleteNot sure I commented yesterday as I visited that store you go to and got mesmerized by all the cute things in there! I wish I could order online but alas...they don't have a "web" prescence.
It's so neat that you have your "ribfest" each year. That is how traditions get started.
I live alone and people will ask me why I go to the trouble of celebrating holidays....as if MOI is not worth it? Like if I'm alone I don't matter? Crazy talk! I think it's great that you celebrate in your own way...too many people wait for someone else to make their life interesting and fun. Have a great Memorial Day Rib Fest!
Sounds wonderful Elaine. I left my 1960's faux fruit out in the sun and rain for 4 days as it was smelly and dusty. I am not sure I like them. Have a terrific long weekend.
ReplyDeleteGosh your place looks great. You have a fantastic creative ability. Love your decor and the cake, oh my, looks so yummy.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like fun. Take lots of pictures. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove your decorations. How do you like your ribs? Rubbed or basted? Enjoy your weekend! Today could not have gone any better, school is out, and we are at the lake relaxing!!! :D
ReplyDeleteMy gosh- does THAT sound good, or what? Everything is looking so lovely. If I come for the meal should I bring my own plate?;>) xo Diana
ReplyDeleteWhat? No rib recipe on your recipe page? And here I am with my ribs ready to go. Oh well, here in Memphis we are born knowing ribs and what to do -- but I was curious as to how a California girl does ribs -- always looking to expand my repetoire. Your rib fest sounds very fun!
