Flowers

Picked a jug of sunflowers, hollyhocks and black eyes Susan. I love a from the garden bouquet.

In a crock with cold water and we are set.

Hope you all had a wonderful Sunday with the dads in your lives. Ours was super low key with left overs from Saturday. My poor guy had to work very early on Sunday morning. A freeway crossing with power lines can only be done early A.M. on Sundays. He came home around 7:30 am with donuts. Oh man do I need to take a walk for hours to burn off the calories from this weekend.

  6. ahh--so gorgeous! Those hollyhocks are beautiful - well, they all are but the hollyhocks got my attention -- mine are pink and won't bloom for another couple weeks.

  8. Pretty flowers Elaine and your husband is a true hero to work those hours so we can all have the conveniences of electricity and overpasses. I missed Simple Sunday again due to craziness of cleaning for sale of house and Dad's Day. Hope to join you next week - Ann

  15. How I love your blog! It is always such a piece of sunshine! I have planted so many daisies, black eyed susans and sunflowers. And, each year they come back with zeal. Unfortunately, this weekend, my sweet hubby thought he was weed eating and he, unknowingly, mowed most of them down. I still have a few nice green clumps and I am happily awaiting their arrival. Oh, well, there's always next year.

Your home is always so welcoming, warm and cozy. I love seeing your changing vignettes and holiday decorating.

Thank you for enriching my days!
    Blessings,
    Carolynn

  17. Your bouquet is so pretty. You have shared useful information. it's a great time with your post regarding sending flower. One does not need a special occasion to give flowers to the people he cares about. For years, flowers have been the first choice of those who want to give something tangible that can express what they feel.

  18. Love this flower combination! I tried growing hollyhocks when we lived in Nashville. They did not grow very well....they were too short! ;P
