The Official Portraits

The official portraits of our silkie chick and mille fleur d'uccle chick. Meet Cream Puff and Mr. T. Yes, I let my kids, for better or worse, name the chickens.

These chicks are the same age but you can see how much smaller Mr. T, the Polish chicken is.

Oh please be a hen, Mr. T and not a rooster. Hopefully the name doesn't doom it.

Update: The silkie chick turned out to be a rooster and was rehomed. He was a sweet chickens so we were sorry to see him go. How to tell if a silkie is a rooster? The are larger and more upright than the hens.

  8. So I saw a show once on egg hatcheries, and they sexed the chicken when it was hatched...they can't do that to these. That would be hard getting attached and then one of them be a boy!

  17. Best Easter decoration on blogland! I mean they are live, they may lay eggs (finger crossed they are girls) and they will eat most of the things you'd have thrown away!!! Way better than chocolate chicks!
