A Summer Week

Q and I had friends over for play and lunch. She later said, "Thanks mom, that was funtastic!" What TV show did she hear that on?

We replaced a light fixture and added a filament bulb. My hubby loves it but I am not sure. They look cool and old fashioned but cast a yellowish light. This one stays but unless we can find some that cast a white light I am not going for them in my kitchen.

The pumpkins are ripening. They sort of took over some of the garden this year but I love that I will not have to buy any this fall.

We've been grilling lots of dinners. I use aluminum pans for grilling loads of veggies. Here we had green beans, potatoes and squash.

I love summer!! Don't let these days of more free time and a relaxed schedule end. We have been very busy but with fun and friends and lots of sunshine. How is your summer going?

  5. Hi Elaine,

I'm one of your newest followers, I've left a couple comments found your blog via Cozy Little house.
I've got a younger child at home so we are trying out a scheduled park day over at huge park with a bunch of moms/kids from my church.
My daughter is over the moon excited to mix it up a bunch.

Have a great rest of the week.

  6. I love your summer shelf with chickens on it.
I'm not familiar with the filament bulbs are the economical energy-wise?
I'm not a big fan of the florescent bulbs...
the pumpkin is a pretty orange! Nice that you have grown some.
We're having a pretty good summer--except my garden didn't do so hot.
Really need to get my plants started for Fall. Not going to miss fall planting/gardening like I did last year.

  7. I'm buried in apples from a tree emergency trim, so it's canning start up for me! You are having some pop up ads for a survey on your site, btw...
