What to Buy this Week

Back to school time brings lots of changes and I am sure you have noticed all the school supplies in the stores. But other things are a good buy right now as well and that makes it time to stock up.

This time of year you will find rock bottom prices on plastic bags. I will usually buy six months worth. In fact when I was putting away this year's stock I found I had some snack sized bags from last year. Don't need to buy anymore of those for long while.

Remember school supplies are at the best prices of the year so stock up for stocking stuffers and tape to wrap those Christmas gifts. Also, if you have people in your house who take lunches to work everyday, now is the time to buy lunch boxes. Actually do what I do and wait until they put them on clearance. I have been known to buy four or five for hubby and as great gifts you can stuff with goodies.

I also noticed condiments on sale at good stock up prices. All those sandwiches we will be making. If you stocked up in May like I suggested here, then you may be running low by now. Why not buy what you will need until the next big sale. These prices usually stay around through Labor Day.

You can find a list of what supplies I stock up on for the entire year during the sales right now here.

  1. I always stock up on ziploc bags. I use them for everything from freezing chicken breasts to storing small toys to scooping cat litter. (all different bags, of course. :-) And I've too noticed that there are lots of back-to-school sales. Great time to stock up on crayons and colored pencils.

  6. I can find good deals off and on during the year for baggies. I use a lot to freeze summer priced chicken parts for the winter. I recycle plastic grocery bags for my lunches to work, since I have odd-sized tupperware containers and a bottle for iced tea. Lunch bags/boxes have never worked for me. I'm not a sandwich person...
