As long as I have been married, I have always had chickens in my kitchen. I guess a bit much to some but I just love them and then the collection evolves. I decided this deep corner of the kitchen would go to the chickens.
You can find the rooster canisters here.
Like these canisters I bought on a girls weekend this month. Half off, they had to come home. I am so tickled to find them.
I keep all sorts of useful things in the canisters. Rice, sugar, flour, popcorn, oatmeal and of course one for cookies. These are my second favorite chicken canisters. From a long closed country decor store but I have found similar ones you can order online here: rooster lid glass jars.
This little gal holds my dishwasher tabs. Handy but hidden away. So do you have a favorite animal that you collect home decor items in?

I love chickens too! The canister set is so cute and I love the chicken that holds the dishwasher tabs, what a great idea:>)
ReplyDeleteYes, I do...and their called ROOSTERS! I have loved them as long as I can remember. Our cabin in the mountains is FULL of them, infact the cabin sits high on top a sttep hill and is called RAY'S ROOST :) I am slowly but surely bringing some of my chickens home to roost at my house in NC...in fact, just started this past weekend! I LOVE THOSE CANNISTERS AND WILL BUY THEM FROM YOU AT ANY PRICE! Just kidding, of course but they would look absolutley perfect in my red and black kitchen...they are darling! You have at least given me some more inspiration as I move more birds into my kitchen!
ReplyDeleteI love the chickens my favorite is your sweet cookie jar :) I used to collect geese but now I have all kinds of things(vintage) in my red, white and black kitchen :) But just started getting some chicken things in my very little kitchen but hope to get more in there somehow :) Love your little stove too :)
ReplyDeleteI have a bit of everything, rather like "Grandma's country kitchen", the comfy cozy sort of atmosphere. I use to have a set, rooster and hen, but I think they ended up in a garage sale, that was back when they weren't so popular. I have a friend who collects pigs, so many she lost count. Your collection is darling. Wish I still had that rooster and hen, I would have sent them to you.
ReplyDeleteSusanne :)
I think I will steal/borrow the dishwashing tabs idea. Never thought to have them so handy...great idea! I too love chickens in my kitchen.
ReplyDeleteYour chicken decor is so cute! Love it!
ReplyDeleteElaine, I think those canisters are absolutely the prettiest set I've ever seen! I love chickens too. Grew up with them. Wish I could have them now. I'm so very happy that once again, you and Q have your chickens! It is an education for a young child.

Love the chickens! My husband said I can have as many as I want outside and long as I don't decorate with them inside! I guess that's a fair bargain :-)

ReplyDeleteIn the early 80's I went through a frog phase, even though I don't like the real thing. They were so cute on cannisters and such. I had a pile of frogs. In time, the frog fever left me, but I still find them cute whenever I see one in thrift stores.

ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a great weekend, my friend.

I like a few chickens here and there too. I don't favor a cluttered look though, so I have to restrain myself! I have seen people with so much stuff that it looks like visual clutter and is overkill....
ReplyDeleteWould you share where you bought the beautiful blue/red chicken canisters? Thank you.
