Summertime Kitchen Tip

Here is a great summer cooking tip a sweet reader shared with me.

When you have to boil noodles just bring the water to a boil, add your noodles, stir and put the lit back on. Turn off the flame and set the timer for ten minutes.

In ten minutes they are perfect and you don't have to run the stove while cooking. Saves gas or electricity too.

Remember to run your stove's exhaust fan while cooking in the summer. It really works to draw the heat out of the kitchen.

  2. Great idea. When I boil eggs, my long gone great aunt taught me to let them boil, then cover with a lid and take off the burner and let sit for 30 minutes. Then they're real easy to get the shell off. I mentioned your red and white paper things you sent me on my blog today. Was doing over my kitchen. Also wanted you to know that on my blog roll by your name, there is now an X over a feed symbol, like Feedburner. Don't know what it means. Something since you changed to a domain. Did you set Feedburner up?

  5. Can this be done with any ol' pasta, say spaghetti?
I'm going to give this a try.
I've also heard of doing this with eggs, though have not tried it, yet.
