I tell you it is getting bad around here. I turn my head or go out the door and things get moved and rearranged while I am gone. I know why this is.
A certain someone doesn't want me to nose in on what he is doing. Could you live with this?
When I was younger, I was more of a control freak, but I have come to learn I am not really that good at arranging things and the Mr. is, so I tell him my idea and wham he just moves things. But he moves things when I have no clue either. This old wood box stood empty but when I came in from dropping one of the kids off, I found this cute vignette. The lineman tucked my old cherry pillow and found some pip berries and crocks to add. He never says anything but waits for me to discover what he has done. You know I have noticed the more stressed he is at work, the more he decorates at home. Must be relaxing to him. Would it bother you if your hubby decorated behind your back?
That is beautiful! You will see me trying to replicate that in the near future. :-) I have that old box (or one similar) and the whole vignette is so appealing to my eye.
ReplyDeleteCute cheese box.... Found one years ago that says processed cheese on it.
ReplyDeleteI love cherries too!!
Wow! He did a really nice job. I think it looks SO nice.. I wish my husband liked to do things like this..LOL...
ReplyDeleteWay to go hubby! :)
Robyn
I think it's fun that the lineman decorates, and he does a good job! I'm afraid I'm still in total control freak mode about decorating but that's okay because my husband doesn't have a decorating bone in his body. You know they say opposites attract, and you and I definitely prove that theory in decorating! Love the cherry vignette, so sweet!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I woke up to the surprise (shock?) of snow on the ground this morning in Virginia :( Just a small ground covering of it, but still ... wanting So. California weather!
Mary
I like the vignette! He's definitely got Talent :) I'm afraid I'm a little like Mary Redo when it comes to the control freak mode. But my hubby and I make a pretty good team. He brings my ideas to life with his "can do" attitude and do-it-yourself skills.
ReplyDeleteWow! He did a great job!
ReplyDeleteYou pose a good question... I'm not sure how I would feel if Hubby decorated behind my back. We've done several collaborative decorating which is always fun!
It might bother me. But it looks nice!
ReplyDeleteIt wouldn't bother me if he did a good job like your husband does. My husbands idea of decoration is making the bed... but I love him :)
ReplyDeleteblessings to you
Well, I think he did good!
ReplyDeleteI love all the lineman's 'vignettes'! Wouldn't bother me if they looked as great as your hubby's does. xo
ReplyDeleteNot if he was this good! You might ought to add him onto your blog, Elaine.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I think it is so cute that he does this! My husband would NEVER do it. He is clueless!!! Sometimes doesn't ever even notice the changes I make!!
ReplyDelete: ) Kris
I wish my hubby new how to decorate! It's the opposite here at my house. :)
ReplyDeleteHe probably would make a great flower arranger. He is very good at arranging things in your home. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI would be delighted! So nice of your husband. The box is great!
ReplyDeleteThis looks beautiful. If my hubby tried to decorate I wouldn't take pics to show the blogging world...unless it was for a good laugh! Lol! He's wonderful at other things. Great at gardening and landscaping. He has two green thumbs :)) Happy Monday.
ReplyDeleteNot if he was as good as your husband is if decorating!
ReplyDeleteMy husband doesn't even notice my decorating.
He has a PhD, is great at woodworking, and is very good at lots of other things, but decorating isn't one of them.
nancyr
I would love the decorating if my guy was as good as your lineman!! Wow, cute vignette!
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
LOL- At least YOUR hubby has a sense of style and good taste. Here...we would be decorating with parts of boats and motorhomes- NO THANKS! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I could take it...but I don't need to worry about it, cuz, it ain't happening!
ReplyDeleteThat is hilarious! I don't know if it would bother me...maybe. lol! But I know it wouldn't happen around here. That's definitely not Jason! Now what he does do is sometimes add things that in his opinion "enhance" what I want him to make for me. Sometimes I just want it simple like I said, but he always wants to add an extra touch. Most of the time, I just go with it because I'm just grateful that he likes to build for me! :)
ReplyDeleteYour hubby did great by the way! I think that is so funny!
Blessings,
Tammy
That looks so lovely. I think the combination is great !!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! He's really good! I'd keep him around if I was you.
ReplyDeleteJudy
That is a very sweet vignette, but I confess to being a control freak, myself!
ReplyDeleteI think I would be so happy to come home and find my blog fodder already done for me :) But no, when I come home it's to find what's been messed up or put back in the wrong place! I have even tried labeling the shelves in the fridge, but no, nothing gets put back in the place it belongs, let alone decorated. You are one lucky woman!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind if it looked as good as your hubby's vignettes look! Lol, I think it's darn cute..
ReplyDeleteNice job :) Maybe you should encourage him to take some art classes? He has an eye for display! I encouraged my hubby to get more into photography since it's a good hobby, a creative outlet. Now he's making a little $$$ at it...
ReplyDeleteHow nice is your husband! It reflects his sensitivity.... How lucky you are.
ReplyDeleteLove from Spain
Love that your husband decorates. He does a great job. I could not handle mine moving things around.
ReplyDeleteI love your country touches. Just can't live without the color red.
ReplyDeleteyour sweet husband did a wonderful job!
Smiles,
Carolynn xoxo
Actually, I think it's sweet that your hubs does that. He must love decorating. That's refreshing.
ReplyDeleteI'd let him have at it. Then, if I didn't like it, I'd just change it when he left. ha haha (I'm sneaky.)
Thanks for sharing. Susan
Wow!! He did a great job!! We do decorate together!! I come up with the ideas and he makes them for me :-}}
ReplyDeleteLol. My husband does things around this house to drive me insane. He will switch things up all of the time. : )
ReplyDeletehappy Tuesday
I think I would faint if I discovered that my husband had decorated! He leaves all that to me, and then it may take him a week to notice that something is new or different! But he helps me implement all my ideas and plans with his wonderful DIY skills, and he cleans much better than I do. I think your hubby does such a nice job!
ReplyDeleteI would die from shock if my husband ever lifted a finger to decorate. lol He'll paint, move furniture around & even give me his opinion but that's it. I love looking @ all your pics. Reminds me of how I used to decorate before we moved & I turned to modern decorating scheme. Thx HGTV lol I totally blame them :) I got rid of so much country stuff at 3 different garage sales I had ppl asking me if I had a store that was going out of business somewhere. lol
ReplyDeleteI believe everyone who reads your blog envies you right now!
ReplyDeleteThats so cute, my hubby never touches a thing in the decor area. I purchased new furniture for the family room once and had it moved in, it took him 3 years to notice. LOL Not the observant type.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! My husband will decorate while I am work-sometimes it is beautiful and sometimes not so much!
ReplyDeleteYour hubby did good!!
Jemma
My husband would never decorate! He doesn't have any interest in anything like that. He always tells me to go ahead and do whatever I want to do - which is fine for me, because I *love* to decorate. And no, I wouldn't want him to "help" me, lol.
ReplyDeleteMy husband at one time would change something, but now he leaves it to me. Such a cute vignette to come home to.
ReplyDeleteHe has a good eye! He gave me an idea for my boxes :)
ReplyDeleteWould I mind if my hubby decorated behind my back? Ummmm, no. Not at all. My issue is that... to relieve stress, my hubby does things like... turning things upside down, or hiding things under other things -- and then he laughs to himself as I walk by and don't even notice. I know, weird. LOL
ReplyDeleteI would be delighted beyond any measure if my hubby wanted to help decorate!!!
ReplyDeleteCute! Tell the Mr. He did good!
