Touches of Spring in the Kitchen

The shelf in my kitchen is like a mantel to me. It is my canvas to change out with each holiday or season. I spend so much time in the kitchen that I love to look at it and enjoy the mood it sets dressed up for the seasons. I shopped the house and outside of the white flowers I picked up at Walmart for 99 cents, everything else I already had.

You might recognize some of the items from my fireplace mantel that is now dressed with some pastels for spring. Pastels don't really work in my kitchen, so I brought in greens. Perfect for spring or St. Patty's.

I collect graters. The one on the right was my mom's and it all went downhill from there.

Well, what do you think? I am happy with it. Until the next holiday.
Again try to ignore the ugly bandaid paint color. Why did I ever pick that color?

This little bunny came in from the back patio. He is watching over my front garden.

Primroses dropped into an old galvanized pail bought at an antique store for a $1.

  8. I like the green touches on your shelf. Cute idea for a kitchen...treating a shelf like a mantel...maybe I should do that since I can't decorate our family room mantel due to the ginormous TV!

  10. Your little shelf looks adorable! You have a talent for arranging things. Sorry to hear you were sick. Hope you're feeling better. Where is that nursery in Cambria? Next time I go to Calif. I'll check it out. (My husband goes to the central coast about once a year to work, I usually spend a long weekend with him) Mimi
