I truly am a simple gal and I absolutely love camping. My husband and I have been camping since we were dating. We started out in his dad's big heavy canvas tent and then bought a tent of our own when we were married. Around 13 years ago we were tent camping, me with my large round pregnant belly taking two little girls back and forth to the restroom, when I had finally had it with the tent side of camping. We upgraded to a pop up tent trailer and moved up to a travel trailer several years after. We have made some of our fondest memories camping and I am itching to get out there. I've been puttering and cleaning in preparation for our annual July 4th trip to the Central Coast.
I knew I saved all those old Scrabble tiles for a reason.
A little basket full of goodies on our table. I will share the rest later and give you a little tour of my little house on wheels.
First we will go here...
Then a weekend in August with friends up here...
In Sept we will be here...
It all looks so fun! Our family used to camp in the Canadian Rockies when I was a kid. In a tent. I think if I were to go now, I'd appreciate a trailer.
ReplyDeleteWe used to go camping a lot when my daughters were young, it was so much fun! The girls, hubby and me would go to the mountains, lakes and rivers, we would fish, we would build camp fires and bake marshmellows too! Such memmories, thanks for sharing. Such lovely places you're going to go to! Hugs. FABBY
ReplyDeleteHello Elaine! My family is not used to camping. How I wish we learned to enjoy it. I love the last picture. It would form my ideal camping destination. :)
ReplyDeleteWe do too! We are going in two weeks up to Rock Creek for fishing and fun with 4 couples!!! Then with my family and all the grands up to Bass Lake near Yosemite!!! Can't wait to see your trailer.
ReplyDeleteKindred spirit here, Elaine. Your trip sounds amazing. Early on in my marriage, I was a true skeptic of camping, but I'm so glad I gave it a try. I've written about our evolution of camping in a number of places in the last 30 years. For me, the RV way is the only way to travel. We're retired now and love our home away from home.
ReplyDeleteSounds absolutely fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great time :-)

Sounds like fun! Especially with a trailer instead of a tent. Each place looks beautiful.

You know how much I love those little picnic jugs :D
ReplyDeleteI only went overnight camping once when I was at Camp Mac. Methinks I won't ever go again unless my life or freedom depends upon it....
(I ended up in the infirmary).....
;P
Enjoy your trip!

That looks very pleasant. I have a friend with a travel trailer that she refers to as their "caravan". I think if I could camp in such beautiful surroundings, with lovely vintage wares to set my picnic table, in my caravan -- I might would enjoy camping!
ReplyDeleteAck..lost my post!
ReplyDeleteLove camping in a travel trailer. Great memories made with my mother and daddy and my kiddo. Mr. Dumpling didn't get to go much. Thanks for the memories.
Love the little basket on the table. Can't wait to see the tour. May you and your family have wonderful memory-making days together.
ReplyDeleteJust bliss.............sigh
ReplyDeleteLOVE the vintage thermos!!!!!

Oh you lucky girl! That sounds and looks like so much fun!!! I'm sure your trailer is very cute, I would love to see it.

Looks and sounds like you're going to have a blast! Love the vintage camping/picnic stuff on your trailer countertop. I'd love to see the rest of your decor :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!!
Wow! I love your kind of camping! It's so hot here, I can't imagine camping out. But the places you've shown look awesome!
ReplyDeleteI like your little travel trailer as well. Have a terrific time.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful settings. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like fun and those locations are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe basket is adorable and I adore breaks from electronics and long naps and reading books in the woods. Good plan.
ReplyDeleteMe too, I love camping!
ReplyDeleteHave fun!
I haven't gone camping in years. My family had a camper when I was growing up, and we had the best family times together. My mom always decorated our little travel home so cutely, too. Your trayscape looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have a fun filled summer planned out! I like the vintage vignette. I used to take my boys camping in tents when they were younger. I miss camping and have not been camping in a few years. I will finally get a chance when I go to Maine in August but it will be in an RV which will be nice.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a fantastic week!

Gorgeous destinations! We've never camped out - we've been sponsors at a Christian camp a few years - that's as close - and I did go as a child - well I take it back - does this count - we rented a cabin at a state park one fall?
ReplyDeleteThat's my style - hope you have a great trip - visiting via Show Off Your Cottage Monday,
Kathy
Ooooh, so much fun! Some of greatest family memories were made camping! Started out in a tent...we've graduated to a motor home now! Visiting from Coastal Charm!

How lovely a little house on wheels. I hadn't thought about camping in a trailer forcing kids to live like we used to...to get out and use their imaginations! Ha! Thanks so much for linking up at Mod Mix Monday!
