Kitchen Shelf for Valentines

It is just about sundown and here is my little kitchen shelf with it's Valentine's doo-dads for the year. In the late afternoon my little heart lights come on and have the brightest cheery red glow. I love them.

Here is the shelf last year. I know use some of the things elsewhere so it fun to change it up year to year.

I am just adding tucks of hearts and red here and there. I will show the rest later on.

Just a quick update on my patient that had her wisdom teeth pulled today. She was a bit weepy but I finally go her to eat a little something so she could take her pain meds. She is now fast asleep. Hopefully she doesn't have too much swelling as she has to be back at the hospital on Thursday no matter what.

  1. I just read about your daughter. I had to have all my wisdon teeth taken out at about her age. One piece of advice - don't let her eat solid food too soon. I did and it really hurt. So I stuck with ice cream. Hope she feels better soon.

  3. Hope your daughter feels better soon! We went through this with #2 the summer between high school and college, but none of the others so far. Love your Valentine decorations -- holiday lights are so nice in the winter.

  4. Your Valentine touches are so festive. I like the lights. I used special lights for each holiday when I taught middle school. I gave the lights to another teacher when I retired. You make me wish I'd kept them!

  7. Your Valentine Day hearts look cute. I especially like the ones that light-up. I hope your daughter's mouth feels better soon. I remember when I had my wisdom teeth pulled at 17 years old. It was not a fun time. Hope she heals quickly.

  11. I've never seen Valentine lights before but, then again, I don't decorate for it so goes to reason, huh? ;) Very cute though.
Hope your daughter is feeling better. Having all four pulled at once? Ouch! No wonder she hurts. :(

  12. My daughter had her wisdom teeth taken out a few years ago and lived on Jamba Juice smoothies for a few days. She got one with oranges, bananas and no seeds, of course, but she said it felt so good on her mouth. The other thing she wanted was macaroni and cheese when she could tolerate some food.

  15. Hi Elaine, What a fun shelf to dress up for the holidays. I love the yellow checked thermos. I too like changing things up a bit from year to year. Oh yes, I remember doctoring some of my kids when they had their wisdom teeth pulled. Luckily they all recovered quickly. Wishing her a quick recovery also!

    Very pretty!
Thank you for linking to Simply Sweet - it's great to have you join in!
I'm so glad I was able to comment here today. I've been having trouble viewing your lovely blog for a while now :-(
I usually get a message about a script running slow and then the page freezes.
I don't know if I have to do something at my end to fix it. I'm not very savvy, I'm afraid!
But please know that I have been trying to visit you - I love this blog!
Have a blessed week, dear lady.
    love..Trish

  17. I love your little shelf!! So pretty and not over done, just the right amount of decorations and touches of red. I saw those lights while I was out (or ones similar) and debated getting them. Now I think I will and put them on my hutch!

  18. Hello Elaine,
Your shelf is very pretty. I never think to decorate for Valentine's Day. The most I do is shape Hubby's mashed potato into a heart on the actual day. Not very romantic really....Maybe I need to make more of an effort. You have inspired me!!

  19. Love your string of heart lights and your red touches are charming and festive!

Wishing your daughter a speedy and easy recovery - I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed at once (a lifetime ago) - I'm sorry, I can't remember how soon I ate anything solid???

Happy Valentines Day and Happy Rednesday!
