All In

There it is all in. Chicken manure, compost, seeds and seedlings all planted.

Six hours straight. My shoulders are burnt and I am filthy.

Sprout, grow I can't wait.

Heading to the tub for a long hot soak and a good scrubbing.

It feels so good to have it all in.

  7. Oh, I bet you'll be aching for a couple of days!
It looks great and it's hard to imagine that in a couple of months it will be filled in with greenness.

  8. Wonderful! Nothing like nice clean dirt under your nails to make you feel wonderful! Love your choice of wagon and cowboy boots for planters! I hope you will keep us in pictures as things grow and mature...

  9. Years ago, we got turkey fertilizer for the raised garden beds. Although we live in a rural neighborhood, it always stank for about three days. It was kinda funny to see the kids walking home from school grab their noses and run past the house. I miss that time somewhat.

  10. That bath will feel REALLY good! I love those days where you're exhausted but it's a good kind from hard, physical labor in the sun and digging in the dirt. When you're rested up come back and tell us what all you planted in there! Congrats!

  15. Oh I can not wait to dig in the dirt. I cleaned up the pots that sit on my porch and just waiting for the chance to fill them. :0) I hope you are feeling better. I notice the aches more too. :0) Have a nice Sunday.

  18. I can't wait for warmer weather so I can get burnt shoulders and achy, too. Why is it we love gardening so? Must be a primal instinct to work the land?

  19. Oh so lovely, Elaine!! I will be starting my pepper and tomato seeds indoors this week. I won't be able to set them outdoors until June 1, but I'm eager to get them started. We're all SO in love with springtime!
