It's Almost Here

First, many thanks to you for such nice comments on my previous post. Life is full of highs and lows and we must relish the good days. The simple things like going to the market and caring for our families. These are not days of drudgery but of joy. I am thankful to have such a great place to come and share thoughts and get such wonderful responses from like minded friends. So thank you.


Well, I looked at the calendar and can you see it? We are about to turn the page on August and to me, September 1st is Autumn to me. It may be 100 outside but in the house we will get ready for fall. After I posted yesterday, I just needed to process my thoughts and decided to tuck away some summer decor and pull out the fall things. I need to tweak it some but for now I am relishing my favorite decor, those warm colors I love the best.

    Hi Elaine....I identify with so many of your thoughts. It IS wonderful that we have our blogland friends to reach out to anytime we want. It's like having an entire legion of soul mates.

    I'm so sorry for your husband's friend and his wife's terminal illness. Situations like that make us grateful for all we have.

    Like you, I'm maxed out on buying "stuff." Need to get RID of stuff before replacing it. Still, I LOVE to shop. It's sooooo much fun. hee hee

    Hi Elaine, Firstly I love all your fall decorations. I'm being slow getting mine out but may have to start this weekend.
    I'm so sorry for your friend and his wife being near the end. Having walked though hospicing my sister through her last months, weeks, days and hours, I can tell you just being there for your hubby's friend will help.

    Your Autumn decor is beautiful, it makes me wish for fall weather so badly. Yesterday was in the 90's and today is supposed to be cooler and it is.
    I probably won't decorate for fall until October 1st. We'll see.

    I love seeing everyone's fall coming out. I have cleared the summer, and made room the fall. But still have not gotten it down from the rafters. I will be thinking of your friend this weekend.

    As much as I love Autumn, I'm just not quite ready to start decorating for it so my summer decor will be out for a few more weeks. Heck, I never took down the Spring decorations this year!! talk about an eclectic look :)

    I remember form my time living in Southern California how hot September was there. I was always so ready for a bit of a cool down. Having a touch of fall inside is perfect.

    Your home is so cozy and welcoming. I can hardly believe the summer is behind us. As much as I love decorating with red, it's always fun to bring out the harvest colors adding them to the mix. Your tablecloth is so festive and how I love all your Fall touches.
