A Proper Blogger Thank You

I want to take a minute to thank a couple of very sweet bloggers who have helped me spruce up my blog. First, Dawn from Creative Cain Cabin was so kind to help me clean up my buttons and made me some cute new ones.

And last week, Kathy from Kathy's Cottage made me a cute new header that is exactly what I wanted. Simple with some color and a chicken.

Thank you both for spending time to help me. I am such a newbie with all this stuff. I can barely edit a photo let alone work with layering graphics and all that entails.

Let me just say that based on some of the comments I have been given, we need an online class to do these basic things. I know you can Google most things but an actual class geared toward bloggers who want to learn to do some of these things themselves. I have not seen anyone out there offering this and trust me I have been doing searches. I see a possible niche untapped.

For now my blog will stay on blogspot. I know lots of folks are switching but I just don't think I could handle the mental strain of the changeover and the hiccups afterwards and I am not sure why I need to. Maybe that will change as it seems to be where a lot of bloggers are going so there must be some reason.

  4. I absolutely LOVE the new header..Its simple but lovely at the same time. Love it! As for switching, I know a lot of bloggers have swapped as well but like you I don't think I can deal with all that right now so Im staying put on Blogger. I know the layout and how to navigate it and right now I don't want to have to learn a new platform..

It's such a joy making friends in the world of Blog. It's such a blessings have them come alongside to help.
Thanks for your condolences on my pain-in-the-neck Windows 8. Hopefully, I will be able to get some expert help on uploading my photos very soon.
    Have a great day, Elaine!

  12. I like Blogger, and plan to stick with it. I wish I could figure out how to change some things - I am hopeless at the techie stuff.

I sure like your new header - you can't go wrong with a chicken!

  13. I love your new header! I'm still using photos on mine but may think about going the simpler route soon. I'm still on Blogger also, just can't fathom all the stress of changing over right now.
    hugs,

  16. Love the new header, although I do miss your photos. I think the photos add the 'personal' touch. It seems bloggers like to follow what others are doing. I don't get that, and I don't see or understand the thrill of Wordpress so until I do, I will deal with Blogger and its issues. lol xo

  17. Blogger works for me ...I kinda think of it in the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' terms. What I am wondering about though, is the new 'blog lovin' that keeps popping up. Anyone have any insight into that? Guess it's replacing the Google reader? I'm not sure if I'm affected by any of that, but would like someone in the know to weigh in.

  18. Your new header is great! That's wonderful of your blogging friends to help you out. I'm not very handy with blogger either - I only know the basics. Haven't taken the time to delve further into the commands/features. It would be nice if blogger offered some sort of tutorial.

  19. I think your blog is wonderful just the way it is.
I tried Wordpress years ago and was not impressed. I found Blogger to be much more user friendly. I'm also not usually drawn to read blogs that do use Wordpress either just because there is a non-personal feel about the whole thing. Too corporate looking for me :)
    Keep up the good work!!

  20. You are so welcome Elaine! I'm glad you like the header. Doing a tutorial might be tough since there are so many programs for graphic design available and they aren't cheap! I used Adobe Illustrator and took classes to learn to use it so it isn't a real easy thing to teach. In the long run it is probably less expensive for most people to pay to have it done. I will look into some free programs and see if I can put together a tutorial. I'll let you know if I can swing it:>)

  21. What a cute header! I love that there's a chicken, of course :)

  22. Yep, love the new header. I have everything set for a WP blog but so far haven't made the move. I can't find the time or energy to get it all up and going. So far blogger is working for me. You make we want to do some simple tuts for easy things like headers, buttons, photo edits, and pin it options.

  23. Cute! Bighugelabs.com is a fun, free photo editing site. I've used them several times...

  24. I love your blog makeover and especially your header.

So where are folks going? And why? I never understand why everyone moves to the next "new thing". lol! I'm a steady girl that doesn't like to change for the sake of change. lol!

  25. I'm sticking to free. I miss some bloggers that are all fancy now. I hate their layout and I personally do not want to click "read more" for each blog post. I like a simple blog. Or, maybe I'm just a dummy! lol!
