Tips on spring cleaning the home and garden.
It is truly a gardeners time of year. We have had some winds which have made the skies the most brilliant blue.
I went to the nursery for a couple items Sunday and had to have this geranium. Chickens don't seem to eat geraniums so they are perfect for the patio.
Such a gorgeous day it was. The trees are leafing out.
I have been doing some easy spring cleaning and using some new ideas and marking things off my spring cleaning checklists. Read about using a paste of salt and vinegar to remove hard water spots. Tried it on my faucet and I think it looks nice and shiny. I let the paste sit on the faucet and scrubbed with my scrub brush and sponge. Here is a post where I used baking soda. I think I like both methods.
Your yard looks so pretty. I love your front porch too. Great tip. I'm having a hard time getting motivated to do my deep cleaning, it's much easier to spend time on Pinterest pinnning spring cleaning ideas.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of your yard with the sun streaming down :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your yard...so neat & pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteMorning Elaine,
ReplyDeleteWell you are certainly ahead of us for nice weather.
Pouring buckets here right now and all of a sudden our sky lites are leaking! Yikes...they are rather new.
Oh Geraniums are just my most favorite flower...just visit my blog if you want to see!
Blessings,
karen
That's a cute little pot the geranium is in with the little birds. You have a very pretty yard. I've been doing some spring cleaning too. Started working in the backyard to clean things up after the winter too. It was warm over the weekend but it's very blustery and cold yesterday and today. Can't wait for the warmth to return.
ReplyDeleteYour yard and flowers look so pretty. I love that geranium.
ReplyDeleteI'm so envious of your green grass and flowers, we are buried under ice and snow. Can't wait for summer! Your little chicks are adorable!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see sunny pictures and flowers...very nice.

ReplyDeleteYour yard is so preeety....and so is your faucet...:) Have a great week...:)))
ReplyDeleteLove your garden! you have so much space around your house, it looks so welcoming to lie on that grass ;)
ReplyDeleteI'll try to clean my taps same way, let's see, thanks for the tip!
Your gardens are so much further ahead than ours, and looking lovely! I've done spring cleanup in them, but it's too soon to plant. We are expecting more snow/sleet tonight & tomorrow...we can't plant tender annuals till at least the end of May. Oh well, soon...real soon.
ReplyDeleteSaw you sharing at Tilly's Nest Down Home Blog Hop.
Debbie :)
Your home and yard are gorgeous! I just love that California look.
ReplyDeleteI have a terrible time keeping plants on my front porch. Every summer it seems to be the chickens favorite place to scratch up & lay their eggs. Part of me is considering not adding plants to my porch this summer. But, I will miss them terribly.
ReplyDeletePolish your chrome faucet with paste car wax. It will resist water spots. Not 100%, but better than before. This works on shower doors and tile, too. just not the floor tile - gets slippery
ReplyDeleteYour yard is gorgeous. Please send some sunshine and warmth our way so that we can start planting. We have freezing rain today. All of the trees and buds are covered with it. I hope we don't have much damage.
