Our mild summer so far has helped the garden to stay lush and green. Usually high heat has fried it by now. I have so enjoyed the ability to be out there and also keep enjoying the beauty.
I found this chicken planter at Rite Aid. Succulents were perfect for it. They require so little water and care.
The animals all love to drink out of this fountain. When we first bought it I thought how fun to put gold fish in it. Well, our cats thought it was a great idea too. They ate them all. Oh, well. The story of the fountain is here.
On Sunday a trip to the nursery was such a delight. This plant which I should have bought and did not get the name of, was covered in butterflies. Just such beauty in nature.

Your chicken planter is adorable. My cats would eat the fish too! Is the plant with all the butterflies, Butterfly Weed?

Can't believe you found that adorable chicken planter at Rite-Aid, of all places. Love the picture of the cat drinking out of the fountain!
ReplyDeleteOf course the cats ate the goldfish. They thought you gave them a yummy snack. On my list of thrifty finds I am looking for is a fountain for our birds. Birds like running water. When I did camp nursing the crazy counselors had the kids eating goldfish in one of the games-all voluntary of course.
ReplyDeleteI keep 12 cent feeder goldfish in my fountain to eat the mosquitoes. Your kitty looks like he's going to take care of yours!!
ReplyDeleteSommer this year is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe succulents look so cute in the chicken planter!
