In less than two weeks my older girls will all be back in school or college or about to be and soon we will begin homeschooling first grade. This will be my 18th year of homeschooling and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. If you have ever considered it, do it. You will not be sorry. My older girls are all very independent, focused young people and I see the fruit of our labors.
For now I am taking a short blogging break to set up our homeschool year since I have had a big break between first graders (ten years). It is exciting though, and I want to have our year mapped out and our supplies all organized so we get off to a smooth start. You can find many of my previous posts on back to school decor and organizational ideas here.

I hope you won't be gone long. Have fun setting up for school. xo
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more. If homeschooling is at all possible, I highly recommend it. It's been such a blessing for us. Enjoy your prep time! First grade is a blast!
ReplyDeleteI admire you for doing that. My best friend home schooled her 4 children. Now they are: an engineer, a missionary in Africa, a PHD college professor, and a college student.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more about homeschooling. I did it for a total of 20 years(!) My oldest is a philosophy professor, the next is a neurobiologist and the last son is still in college. They are so glad we homechooled and now my grandson will be. It is definitely worth it!
ReplyDeleteHave a great year ... making memories. This is my final one. Our youngest son is a senior this year. Bittersweet.
ReplyDeleteMy only son is going to college so this fall will be the empty nest adjustment. I enjoyed reading your blog. I started a blog with a new challenge everyday this summer to find new interests. Up to day 31!

ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings..Barb xx
Homeschooling is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI home schooled our 4 and they've all turned out fine!
Have fun getting ready for school!
Sadly I dread going back to school each year, since I love the summer's off. As an elementary librarian the summers seem to get shorter each year, sigh... too much yard work, canning and not enough time:)
