Cheapest Coffee Pods for Keurig and Friday Frugal Update

We use our yellow Keurig everyday so find the cheapest coffee K-cups and coffee pods is key. Frugal tips and where to get the best price on k-cups.

Relieved that this week has been less expensive than last week. Here are some things we did this week in our frugal living mode.

Called our insurance agent about our vehicle insurance again just to go over whatever we could do to lower our rates. Our college age daughter, who we still pay for, was on a separate policy. By putting her in with our multi-line policy plan we will be able to say over $300 a year. That is substantial and worth the time I think.

I have to replace our windshield on my car and found out if it costs more than our deductible, it will not hurt our rates to file a glass claim for whatever amount is over our deductible.

I am cooking food out of our freezers this week trying to just clear it out so it can be reorganized and to avoid having to throw away something that is freezer burned. If we cannot eat the food we hope it is something the chickens might like but most times, I manage to make some sort of meal or food out of it.
I have a banana bread in the oven right now that I am using bananas from the freezer, some almonds that need using and some dried blueberries that have been around for a while.

I shop for many of our food and supplies from Amazon. I will do a post very soon on what I find to be worth ordering. But if you know me at all you know both hubby and I love coffee and have a Keurig we love and use daily. The pods can be expensive from stores so we have found a coffee we absolutely love and is very economical to order from Amazon. It is the San Francisco brand and our favorite is the Fog Chaser. We also love that the cups are not plastic but the little mesh bags.

In the stores the coffee pods run about .60 - .70 per pod and some more. We like good coffee so when we discovered this brand we were excited. The pods run for a box .36 a piece and if you do like us and get it on subscribe and save they are .31 a piece. Compared to Starbucks I'd say a bargain. I put the link below because folks have asked me what brand I buy knowing my frugal queen ways. It is an affiliate link so I would get a small portion that would go to help offset the costs of running this blog.

I hope my tips and sharing of money saving ideas are worth your reading and can help others in some small way but it does take time and a bit of research. But thank you so much for reading and to those that are loyal followers. You are AWESOME!! 1. I too always check Amazon for prices. I love the convenience of Amazon and the fast shipping. Can't beat it! I buy my Pacific brand organic free-range chicken broth from them, 12 at a time.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  2. Last year our windshield got blown out by a rock thrown up by a truck on the expressway. We used a company that came out to our house and replaced our windshield in our driveway. They did a great job and it was a lot cheaper than going to an auto repair place or the car dealer. You might want to see if there are any companies that do that in your area.

  3. My favorite K-cups are from Trader Joes. I get their French Roast for $4.99/12.

  4. Your frugal tips are always great. Seeing your cute little Keurig makes me miss mine. But mine stopped working, no matter what I did to troubleshoot to fix it. I am satisfied with the $41 Melitta!

  6. One of things that helps us cut back on wasting money, food, and our calorie intake is to share a piece of meat/fish. Instead of buying 2 steaks, he buys one and we share it. The same goes for a piece of fish, but we like different parts of the chicken.

We don't have any snack food in the house other than nuts. If we had prepared snack food, we would eat it and we certainly don't eat it. And, boxes of crackers are expensive for what you get.

  8. Love the frugal tips! I just bought 10 lbs of chicken thighs and 12 pounds of ground beef on sale to separate out for freezer meals. I bought the plastic refillable cups for my kuerig and just use my regular coffee. I do plan on a meeting with our insurance company.

  13. When we've had to replace windows in the car, I've found that you get a completely different price if you tell them there's no insurance involved. Doesn't seem right, doesn't make sense....but it's saved us a LOT of money.

If you're handy and it's a side window, you can also get one from a junk yard. My husband has done that once or twice.

Typing this reminded me of how glad I am that we moved and don't get our cars broken into anymore!
