New Beginnings and Saying Goodbye

It has been a sad couple of days. Didn't feel much like blogging about fluff while my girlfriends family said goodbye to their mother and grandmother. So I took a couple of days off and hubby and I attended the viewing and funeral. Yesterday before the funeral though, I had the joy of taking Quinn to her first ballet class.

She was so excited. Now if you have ever seen a class full of three year olds dance you know what I am talking about when I say I laughed until I cried. It was so cute and funny. She loved it and did so many twirls I could see she was getting dizzy. It brought a wonderful joy to an otherwise sad day but that is how life is. Full of lots of real life with some good laughter in between. I tell my kids all the time to understand a few things about life. First, that it isn't fair and the sooner you accept that the better and second, that life is really hard, full of a lot of what you don't want to do sprinkled with a little of what you do like to do. BUT it is how you handle the things you don't want to do that can make or break your outlook on life. If you go through your days thankful for the small things and thankful you are able to take care of the daily tasks then you will be a lot happier. I know from experience. So on with life. I hope you all are enjoying the last days of summer. Fall is almost officially here.

  7. She is such a cutie! Life sure can have it's share of overwhelming moments. But being alive to learn how to deal with those is better than the alternative.

  8. She looks very cute and quite pleased with herself! Yes, it's good to teach them early about "the fairness" of life. When my youngest daughter, about three years ago when she was around 30, went into a depression (mom's genes), she said to me that she'd always tried to do everything right. And didn't find what was happening fair. I had to explain to her, all over again, as though she'd forgotten, that life is simply not fair.

  13. Elaine, Quinn looks so gorgeous in her little outfit.

Your words of advice are very wise to your children and a good reminder to us all not to take anything for granted.

I hope now that you and your friend and her family can move forward after her Mum's passing, remembering everything she taught you both.

    All the best,
    Deb.

  17. I tell ya, you and your friend have been on my mind so, so much. I hope you know that I have bee praying for y'all! God is good that he gives us happy little moments in the midst of our grief. Princess Quinn is lovely in her sparkilicious ballet ensemble. I know the class was hysterical. Little girls are so fearless at that age! I wish I could have watched the class with you.
