City Chickens

City chickens. Raising chickens in the city.

I have decided my chickens are sleek city girls and they know it. They only choose the prettiest flowers pots for resting and hopping into.

They also sit upon their favorite bench in a color coordinated pattern.
Barred rock and Easter egger chickens

Miss Puffy Cheeks has decided her former name of Henrietta is too farm girl for her and she prefers Miss Puffy Cheeks only. I say farm girl names are best!

This model is bored with her photograph being taken and is falling asleep in the job.

  10. I think you've taken to the chickens quite well! You are having the most fun with them. Me? I'm ready to put ours in the freezer... so I can get to tending my larger chickens and bonding with them more.

    Enjoy your babies!

  14. I love your chickens! We took my two year old grand nephew with us to "help" decorate graves Memorial Day. We stopped at a small town gas station that has a resident chicken and rooster. He'd never seen chickens before and was quite thrilled with them.

  18. They are the cutest little things...

Do you have to worry about any other animals at night? Or are they quite safe in the hen house?

I really am thinking about chickens, just don't know what the neighbours would think, or if the raccoons would bother them.

  20. A hen party on the fence, and obviously with lots to talk about.
I guess an afternoon nap sounds like a good idea to them too!

  21. They are beautiful. It occurs to me that our Bob has a chicken who lays eggs and I need to send you a pic of her as she is enormous. He rescued her. She fell off a truck that was on the way to a slaughter house.

  28. Sooo cute!! I just got 4 little girls myself!! It's so much fun watching them grow up! Mine are 5 weeks old already!! I'm still keeping them in their run, because I'm afraid a hawk will swoop down and get them, plus I'm still bringing them in at night to their cozy brooder! You could say they are a little spoiled!! Enjoy your sweet girls!
